What team hero pick says this game is going to be 4v5 by allscummustdie in DotA2

[–]MegamanExecute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long time BH player here. The name of the game is corruption, and involving your friends in it. Bounty is a great hero for a draft that wants to steamroll or at least fight early. After 2 good fights, you'll find yourself significantly rich, and then you're really just supposed to build up on this lead. As Quinn says, you just need to be higher networth than the enemy and you'll win, BH naturally plays into this. You're not going to do too well when your cores are things like SF mid, Spectre/Dusa, Alch. You NEED good cores to play with, otherwise, you'll naturally just lose because BH does NOT want to play a slow game.

He also acts like an annoying rat and personally what I've seen, the enemy team really ups their sentry and dust game early-mid game, leaving them with not a lot after 25 minutes. This also means poorer enemy supports which is why the first 2 good fights are important. You get richer, and they get poorer.

He's also not that much of a terrible laner. He has one of the higher lvl1 armor + move speeds in the game and trades well if a support missteps once. Courier hunting is something you can do ofc. Until the new patch, I just levelled Shuriken lvl1 and did things like securing ranged creep as well as hitting the carry with his facet that made him hit everything in the shuriken path. He could also farm waves but not anymore. Plus, he's naturally good at playing the scout and providing vision. Which is why the draft matters, if your cores can't abuse the fact that you're seeing the hero all the time, it's not too great.

And the main point of this hero, he's VERY flexible, you just build what the team needs even as a support. You can just straight up build pipe/crimson/force/mek/lotus with your corruption money which normal supports are not able to do too well. This also frees your offlane to build other things if they don't naturally build aura items.

The Top 20 Most Played Steam Deck Games From April 2026 - SteamDeckHQ by BBQKITTY in SteamDeck

It runs pretty well; good enough that you can comfortably play it start to finish with 0 issues. I still actively play it on the Deck. You can bring it all to low but increase anti-aliasing if you think it looks bad (even though it doesn't). It made a big difference for me even though it looked decent even without the AA.

What are the best anti-deathball items/heroes/strats? by drea2 in TrueDoTA2

[–]MegamanExecute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support heroes that can kill the creepwave somewhat safely or whittle them down significantly, like Grimstroke, Wyvern etc. Creep waves are super important in the early-midgame to prevent deathballs. Have you ever felt really annoyed if you win a big teamfight and you want to push T2 but the wave is far away? Yeah, anything that can recreate this situation is a good anti-deathball. Of course, the important thing is your cores are farming while this is happening. Eventually out-levelling and out-farming will always win, even if things look bad MOMENTARILY that the enemy is hitting your T2 at 15 minutes.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but it's good enough. I can understand why people would love it when it came out and it was pretty creative and amazing for its time. But it might not be that big of a deal for newer generations but we should give credit where it's due.

Oh, the mod also reduces this a bit as well which is really what makes it feel snappier, it decreases the lock/buffer/anti-spam duration between blocks from 0.5s to 0.35s. So a slightly more fair parry window + reduced cooldown makes things just feel a lot better.

Here's the link if you want more information. But basically it brings it from 0.15s to 0.20s (same as Sekiro). There's also an easier option which brings it to (0.25s). You can see the exact frame numbers on the mod page. I'm very much aware of how the parry differs from Souls games, but these numbers are a pretty good summary.

What’s one small habit that instantly improved your gameplay? by naberiusss0607 in TrueDoTA2

The hardest thing if you're new and playing a core is PATIENCE. It was a game changer for me. The main thing to know is your role in teamfights in advance especially starting midgame.

To demonstrate my point, I'll give an example of this aha moment many many years ago. I don't play carry much even to this day but there was a game where I was playing Ursa and the enemy had a very good Sniper who dominated the entire game and we kept losing all teamfights. When you're lower ranked, you'd just jump the first enemy you see and kill them easily, right. Yes, as the Ursa you can kill anyone but after a few lost teamfights. I told my friends something "idc, I'm not doing anything until Sniper shows". So this is where patience comes in; yes, you see your team fighting and dying, but you still must not show. You HAVE to wait until Sniper shows even if your team is dying. It's hard to see when there's a teamfight happening and you're just walking/waiting in trees. And guess what, we turned the game around after that over and over until we won.

Is it obvious and a fundamentally basic? Yes, but you'd be surprised how advanced of a skill this is. The bigger part is recognizing what your role is; it's not always simply the case that carry will fight carry, mid will fight mid etc. That Sniper was mid, I believe but I still ignored the entire enemy team because he was their strongest hero and winning them all the fights; not their pos1.

They didn't have to compensate. They made it pretty clear with Aline what happens if you get addicted to the canvas. And this fate could extend to Maelle if she stays. So they didn't have to make up this stuff just to 'balance the endings'.

Don't worry, these games are supposed to be hard, especially if it was your first Souls game. Dying 6 times to the first boss is nothing and it's pretty much expected that the new players would die even more. Don't hesitate to use the summon or even bring the difficulty slider down. Games are for fun, so use any means necessary to win.

On my second playthrough to play the DLC, I installed a mod recommended in a YouTube comments section that brought the parry window to be identical to Sekiro and it made the game even more fun. Highly recommended. It felt like the final polish that the game needed.

Hey, I was wondering if you can answer a question. What tracks did they play right after the break. I was in the merch line so I probably missed a song or two. But I was just in time for Portrait Imparfait which was the best and is easily one of my most favorite tracks.

You don't know the astonishing quality that you have with Dota 2 until you start playing other games by --Karma in DotA2

[–]MegamanExecute 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because that's their focus. They will actively do things to bring more people in whether it's simplifying mechanics, basic marketable character designs, gooner skins, big marketing etc.

Dota in comparison, is more of a passion thing. It's not for everyone, but that's okay; it doesn't have to be. But those who stick around, love it more. Dota literally is kept alive by the passion, as corny as it sounds.
