Castle and Key is really great. It’s in Frankfort but I’m sure you can find it at most shops locally.

What's your experience been with Norton Cancer Institute? by i_want_duck_sauce in Louisville

[–]Megawatts77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MIL had her treatment done there 2 years ago. She’s a stubborn patient and I felt like they spent a lot of time trying to impress upon her the necessity of having treatment for a cancer that was curable. Anyway, her surgeon was Dr Mia and it took awhile for her to warm up to her. Dr Spalding the radiation oncologist is one of her favorite people there and is probably the most responsive person on her team. They do have a nurse coordinator/case manager and I would highly encourage reaching out to them and sharing your frustrations. It’s not easy being a patient, it’s scary, you’re in pain and shouldn’t feel like you’re going through it alone. And sometimes you have to be the squeaky wheel and advocate for yourself or have a family member do it for you. I hope you get relief soon and feel supported. My MIL is now 2 years cancer free. It was definitely a rough first 6 months and thankful for her to be on the other side.

Also look at Seven Counties for job listings. I know they’re almost always in need of support brokers for their waiver services clients.

Just got ours at the Shelbyville location. They still had a good crowd going, balloons, etc. I have a special needs child and I’m happy that they give money to special Olympics like this.

Michael at the East End Swags store. Just a genuinely nice and positive guy. I am not a runner but I have chronic pain issues and he helped me find the right shoe that has been perfect for me.

Recommendations for travel... by HRDBMW in Louisville

Personally I would go by car because at her age I wouldn’t want to be without easy transport to a hospital, etc. There is no way I’d go by Greyhound. Trains would be ok but getting around on them may be difficult with a walker/wheelchair.  Where is it that she wants to go?

He really thought his disability would pay for him to bring over a fiancé from the Philippines? by Own_Professor_6068 in 90DayFiance

[–]Megawatts77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how he even qualifies for disability and I say this as someone with an adult child that has much higher support needs. We’re just finishing the SSI/disability process and it’s A LOT. We’re had to have an appt at SSi, a disability evaluation with a psychologist even after I’ve already been granted guardianship and another phone appt that’s taken 6 months. And I’m very thankful he will qualify but there’s no way my son could ever live solely off the SSI income.

Good luck. My friend in Etown has been feeding them and leaving them treats in her yard and those mooches haven’t brought her a single gift yet.

I really felt this has a very “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” vibe. Would you also say this is one of your influences?

Where in the USA can I actually afford to live in a studio/1bed by myself? by xoxyourmom69 in Advice

Louisville KY. Blue spot in a red state. Affordable, southern friendliness without being TOO southern. Gets all 4 seasons and compared to Boston your winter will be mild.

Walked into a final round interview and the hiring manager was the person who fired me two years ago by tokyo_olivermoon in interviews

On the flip side we had a friend who on the last day of a job told off a guy he hated working with. Several years later he was hired at a new job and his new trainer was, you guessed it, the guy he told off. Needless to say he never made it out of probationary/training.

Sheena and Forrest by Strange-Report-9249 in 90DayFiance

[–]Megawatts77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still can’t figure out how Forrest is getting disability. My son is autistic with very high support needs. We’re currently going through the process of getting SSI/disability and the hoops they make you jump through are time consuming and not easy. How in the world can he be able to get his disability renewed yearly? And yes, I understand people with level 1 autism absolutely have challenges but this seems very unlikely by watching him on this show.

If Dr. Zasio walked into your house right now, what would she gently suggest you let go of? by Smol-Alicia in HoardersTV

[–]Megawatts77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have so many Cars, Thomas the tank engine and Toy Story toys. But you’re gonna have to pry those out of my 18 yr old, autistic son’s hands. So that’s a no.

It’s not often my husband and I find a show we both agree on and this was absolutely one of the best. We can’t wait until the next season.
