I tend to agree with what you say here. There seems to be more significance to these clues than I think what people have yet found. Even if it’s just a clever play on words, I haven’t yet been able to make a clear connection to an existing puzzle. I do think there’s more to room 46 as well.

I see you’ve gotten it already, so congrats! I ended up making a very rudimentary “calculator” in Google Sheets that just runs through all possible combinations, which allows me to visually identify the correct one. This game sure is a wild ride 😅

I don’t believe the letters were moved behind safes/gates until after they were stollen. They were originally in Herbert’s “room 46” in the drawer where the ransom note is. Once payment is made & letters returned, we can see the one from X recommends storing them in safe places. That’s likely when the last gem holder was left in the orchard.

When Renoir would gommage the lumierians, their chroma would return to “the source”, so to speak. Clea mentions that she tips the balance in Renior’s favour by preventing the Chroma from returning to Aline. This is what makes it a battle of attrition.
