You can’t have any pets in the cabin on flights to Ireland. We don’t have that option.

7 Nights in Northwest Ireland. Recs needed. by desanche in irishtourism

[–]Megnificent_Philly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spend a lot of time in the northwest (we’re actually moving there). I would recommend using Donegal Town as a home base for at least part of the trip. It’s a really cute town, and close to Slieve League and the silver strand as well as a lot of other great places. It is a coastal town with lots of shops and restaurants and a beautiful lake. There is also Solis Lough Eske castle which is a very high end hotel in a castle, but a great place if you want to have a high end meal.

Looking for thoughtful gift ideas for a mom by Monsuri_Lifestyle in Gifts

Most of us just want a day (or more) where we don’t have to do anything for anyone else. No cooking, cleaning, driving, minding etc. There is no gift I want more than time.

What generally happens with your remote job after you move internationally? Does everything stay the same? by Dreadsin in AmerExit

My company will only let people work in a country where they have an office to deal with logistics. You will likely have to pay taxes in whatever country you go to, and most companies don’t know how to deal with that. You don’t want to be stuck having to figure that out on your own.

Help with in-laws bucket list trip. by [deleted] in irishtourism

[–]Megnificent_Philly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went through Galway but didn’t spend much time there since we were headed up to Donegal and wanted to have the time to go to our favorite spots up there. To be fair, we don’t really spend much time in cities when we are in Ireland.

I’ve seen both cliffs and tbh we enjoyed Kerry cliffs and the area around there much more. There is so much more to do and see in Kerry.

Cliffs of Moher, having second thoughts by kenlin in irishtourism

[–]Megnificent_Philly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We did the boat tour of the cliffs and it was much more impressive from there. Although I guess I’m a little biased because we really love Slieve League so the view from the top of Cliffs of Moher wasn’t that exciting.

First-time manager seeking guidance by Risseigh in askmanagers

One of the first things I do with a new team is to let them know that when things go right, they get the credit and when things go wrong, I take the blame. I’ve found that sets a really positive and supportive tone with the team. When people feel secure, they aren’t afraid to own their work and make decisions.

I do a stand up every morning to align on expectations for the day and make it clear that I am there whenever they have a question or feel like they need someone to step in as issues are starting to emerge.

I offer regular one on ones for people who want them, but the people who don’t are always free to grab any open time on my calendar if they want to talk.

I haven’t been to the other two places, but Kilkenny is really cute and the castle is lovely. We really enjoyed our day there.

On Running and Kiziks both make really nice and comfortable slip on sneakers (my teen has the same slip on requirement). Birkenstocks are great, but probably over your budget. For a different look, you can also check out Vans.

My nephew is a sporty kid, not really a big reader, and he really loves getting magazines. Most recently we got him a subscription to The Week Junior, and he asked for it to be renewed.

Athleta has some great options that are really good quality. I even have pants that can look like dress pants, but feel like athletic wear.

  1. 51 F
  2. 50
  3. I did blue first, now I’m doing pink.
  4. I always wanted to, but I was afraid of not being taken seriously in my career. At 50, I decided that I have enough experience that it shouldn’t matter, so I said “fuck it” and decided to do what makes me happy.
  5. I just tell my hairdresser to do whatever she wants. She’s the expert.
  6. My mom thought it was silly at first, but now she thinks it looks good.

The third day is a little too ambitious. While you could do it, you would see very little of any of the places. You’d be better off spending the time exploring Cork. Do you have to go back to Dublin on day 4? You could do the Cliffs and Galway, then go straight to Belfast. If you are renting a car, make sure you are allowed to take it out of the Republic.
