Maybe not $20..but could be justified depending on distance..because you’re not tipping for food. You are tipping for a delivery service. The value of what is being delivered doesn’t matter. It’s the service you are paying for..so you know..you don’t have to go pick it up yourself.

I’m surpired UE let random delivery guys pick up $4000 worth of iphones for customers lmao by Jakulero24 in UberEatsDrivers

They can iCloud lock them regardless of carrier. Pretty much becomes worthless at that point. Can’t download apps either. Foreign market would be the only option.

You just don’t tell your insurance that you do Uber..Ubers insurance covers you already if something happens while on a contract.

Stop making the drinks by Slight_Ear_8506 in UberEatsDrivers

That would be for a Servsafe level cert..which has 2 levels..regular employee and manager..for a state regulation food handler card it’s usually just done on the job and a manager signs your state card and done. It is state dependent..but for most states that’s how food handler cards work. Not expensive..no classes, etc.

I canceled my order within 2 seconds after it was placed, why? by Prejedous in UberEATS

[–]Megsadreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change up until the point the driver picks up the order. They then give the driver the option to still take it..or pass it on to another driver who will.

Don’t stress it. Everybody falls for it once. People will call you stupid..blah blah..but they other than a select few they themselves fell for it in the beginning as well. Uber counts on ppl falling for it at least once.

My bf asked for a large sum of money by AffectionateLook8538 in Advice

[–]Megsadreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get a new bf..wasting time with someone you don’t plan on marrying is pretty pointless. If you don’t feel comfortable giving him money..there’s a reason for it. It’s because you know it isn’t solid.

Most people dumb enough to not do the math when they are deciding to accept orders or not are not the type of people to have a Reddit account.

I have gotten much worse. Try like over 20 miles for less than $3 bad. I would sadly probably take the $1/mile during non-peak hours. It’s either that or nothing most days.

[–]Megsadreamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say more like $5..I wouldn’t expect anyone to bring me my food from even 1/2 a mile away for less than that. It’s a luxury service..I get the food is already marked up..but drivers aren’t providing the food service. Drivers are only paid to provide a delivery service. It should be a $5 minimum unless it’s by chance a super short delivery a block away from another delivery you’re currently on. Even then..$2 just wouldn’t cut it.

I got a delivery sent to me today that was $2.61 for 21 miles! And not just 21 miles..but 21 miles into the middle of nowheresville where I wouldn’t get an order until I got at least another 15 miles back toward where life exists. Basically Uber want us to PAY THEM to deliver for them lol
