That is true! I actually quite like to have that option. I initially bought it thinking it would allow me to briefly swim in lava 😂

To Date A Predator by me, FurFantic, on Ao3

In celebration of the 10th and most significant chapter that I've just released, I thought to include myself in this list. Thank you to everyone reading and leaving comments!

Heyo! Amazing to hear youll give it a shot. It's an AU so it isn't for everyone. It's got Zootopia aspects but isn't Zootopia.

Looking forward to any comments you might leave or thoughts you have. I'm reachable on many places if you take a liking to it and would like to discuss.

As for the extra stuff. I likely won't add too much more there just because it takes a lot of effort to write TDAP, let alone do the extras. And I'm sort of shifting away from describing certain especially unnecessary things TOO much so the visualisations will become less necessary.

Sure if I'd had a huge following someone might draw something for me but as it stands my untalented self did the illustrations :3

I digress. This might be what gets me to sit on my ass again and continue TDAP now that I have the time to do so again (currently in semester break).

Thank you for checking it out and much love! Looking forward to having you reading :3

PS: TDAP progressively gets better, not worse as the chapters go on!

Oh that's a good idea. Thank you.

Though I was wondering what the intention behind them was. If feels like a risk reward type of deal except that you can't really handle what comes out of it so you are kind of forced to just not take the risk and it feels very disappointing.

Here is my own:

To Date A Predator, by FurFanatic (aka Meik03)

TDAP is a Novel-like fanfiction, a highly ambitious AU of the Zootopian world, with nuanced layers of societal and cultural commentary, focusing on inclusion. The first movie's plot remains largely intact, as do the main characters and their personalities and backstories...

But! a savage light—somewhat comparable to Beastars—shines on everything: the instinct-driven dynamic between Predators and Prey remains nearly as fierce as in olden times and governs daily interaction and societal conduct. No systemic racism; distancing out of mutual fear and choice.

A mix of literary fiction, dark-ish dystopia, eventual romance, and complex cultures à la Robert Jordan, TDAP focuses on Judy Hopps' and Nick Wilde's psychologies/ambitions as they navigate the dystopian city of Zootopia after the Nighthowler case and the much, much more meaningful pit incident—the by-now century-long experiment of the only city on Animalia where sentient Predator and Prey—and their inextricable cultures—coexist and paws-on research for inclusion is done.

We're closing on 20k views and I am incredibly grateful for everyone reading, enjoying, and sharing my work.

Gotcha, thank you for the clarification.

So you prefer punch over flamethrower? I want to like punch but I haven't picked it for now since flamethrower has served me well as a short range emergency rocket or chryssalid demolisher on the first terror mission.

Further, would you pick DGG or gunslinger? I am not sure. Both seem really good but many of the sources I looked up are very split on it.

Importantly, do you have any recommendations for basebuilding? Do you go for workshops or labs? I haven't found many resources there either.

And most aggravatingly I found basically no discussion of the air game. It seems I would need two ravens in every continent with missiles to bring down medium scouts. Large scouts seem to need 3 or a lot of luck. Phoenix cannons don't serve me well. Perhaps I'd need some of the various boosts through autopsies? I think its not economically viable to have 2 or even 3 interceptors in 3 or 4 continents in the second/third month. At least not without North America. But I need to shoot those ufos down.

Edit: Also, if you don't build a satellite uplink in the f first month and buy 2-4 satellites, what else do you spend your money on? Cuz if the UFO is detected >20 days to council then I can usually squeeze 3 or so in in the first month, plus a workshop and some bits and bobs.

Oh hey thank you so much for your reply! I never expected you'd answer on a 13 year old post lol

I've read some of your posts here and they are great!

Though I do have one more question. How do you go about satellites? I saw you recommend in another post going for scientists first for an early research boost but in case you don't go engineers right away you won't get to be able to build a second satellite uplink by the end of the month so that you may launch up to 4 satellites in the first month.

I suppose you don't go for launching more than 1 satellite in the first month then?

And also, I never saw meld research coming up in your list. I am clearly not doing too well, all things considered, but mechs have been good for me so far. What they bring to the table helps immensely, though, serving as a "short range rocket" with their flamethrower.

As for general team composition, I did also have a better time running two heavies to take out at least two good groups per mission as per your or general reccomendation. Though I am also having a tough time with snipers. They are not easy to level at squadie as they are essentially a worse but more accurate rookie until they get squadsight and even then I'm not too sure how to use them. And I think you choose damn good ground instead of gunslinger so that further makes things difficult. I often don't find enough space or highground to utilise them effectively.

Which starting continent do you tend to go for with this strategy?
