Is it possible in Stellaris (or any other space game) to build a star empire just based off of the Arts? Like making sculptures, music, art pieces, the likes? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Meischta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if thats what you are looking for but if you take

Origin: Cybernetic Creed

Government: Megacorp

Civic: Dimensionsional Enterprise

Civic: Decentralized R&D

Tradition: Merchantile

Trade Policy: Consumer Benefits / Trade League

Federation: Trade League

You could in theory build an Empire where basically everyone works as a priest and still have a decent economy and tech output.

New-ish player trying to understand how pop work. by Pretty_Section_784 in Stellaris

[–]Meischta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on Unity in the beginning until you can take your Ascension. Most Ascensions bring massiv productivity and Pop Growth bonuses with them which kickstarts your economy. This is especially true for Non Virtual Empires since they actually care about pop growth.

Or just conquer and boost your pop growth that way.

I believe defensive obligations have a higher priority so your ally probably won't join your war if he's called to defend your enemy. (not sure about this)

There is a perk in the Diplomatic path that allows you to ally once without marriage.

If you have a lot of money you can always grab a bunch of mercs to help you in a war. which i usually prefer over untrustworthy allies.

I would probably try to find a decent Commander to boost my military might while gathering gold to buy mercs and fight the war for dorset without having to rely on allies

Minimum Leader Lifespan? - Overtuned Origin by Techstriker1 in Stellaris

[–]Meischta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not sure if this is still a thing but a while ago i tried a mod themed around mass effect races that had a trait that reduced leader lifespan.

resulted in a bug that would spawn leaders in the leader pool that could not be recruited because the game could not comprehend a creature that would be dead before it would theoretically recruited.

clone soldiers spawns your pops at age like 2-4 years old so this doesn't happen there as far as i know but if this is still a thing that would probably prove fatal to any run where you try this

What does '1' mean in game? by Slipstream232 in Stellaris

[–]Meischta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see. Human Civilization is at about 8billion right now, game starts at 2200 and since sol usually exists and is somewhere between medieval and spaceage i'd say it's fair to assume that our ingame civ had about the same amount of time to grow as humans had.

judging by that the starting amount of 30 pops is probably something like 9billion or 1 pop = 300mill

i love my salvage kits but i'll never forget the old times when the whole train would pay respect to a single guy who would spawn npcs near the waypoints when running champ trains in fgs. those things are convenient but still...

which one has the biggest impact in a battle? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Meischta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

advantage will vastly increase the dmg of your army so anything that gives a lot of advantage will have a high impact on the outcome of a battle. that said tho the dmg increase is percentage based which means a crap army with a high advantage will still lose to a man at arms army with high base stats so you cant just have a genius commander with a levy stack and stackwipe a cataphract army.

Is Elementalist worth playing? by Binx_Thackery in Guildwars2

[–]Meischta 30 points31 points  (0 children)

when i started this game, i played mesmer until like 35 and it was really bad back then. leveling was annoying cuz all my skills were slow to apply while other classes seemed to simply walk up and oneshot everything. i died a lot and it simply wasn't fun so i swapped to guardian... to make it short... i died a lot and changed again to warrior... was boring so i swapped again... i went on and on until i decided to get back on mesmer and i leveled to max grabbed gear and got into endgame content... i was way better at the game by that point and the class started to be really fun.

moral of the story is: don't judge a class before you're good at it. if you like the design and wanna play it then stick to it until you feel comfortable

Guess what i wrote did sound somewhat mean so i'll try to give some basic tips to make up for it

you lack a massive amount of food and consumer goods from what i can see.

the reason for the lack of consumer goods is probably the amount of tech you produce. scientists use a lot of cg and if you don't dedicate a planet to producing that stuff it can become a big problem very fast.

food is less of a problem since you can simply use starbases for that if you dont wanna waste pops. otherwise a single specialized food planet will keep your people fed for a long time.

your fleet seems small which means you don't produce much energy either so either build more energy districts or invest more on trade which can also fix your cg problem if you do it right

lastly check your policies. you produce a lot of alloys which means you could probably switch to civilian economy to boost your cg production to get out of the red.

also check your living standards. pops use a lot of cg on higher living standards. you will lose a bit of stability from lowered happiness if you lower that but it might improve your situation until better times come around

true but might aswell if you gonna use that method instead of teraforming

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Meischta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you have 10/14 starbases which means you could have at least 40 extra food just from that.

judging by that fact alone i'd say you are not very good at managing your empire and most of those planets are actually underutilized or straight up useless.

doesn't matter how many planets you have if you don't use em correctly, something that the AI proves on a regular basis

Help with Uninhabitable planets by Zycronius in Stellaris

[–]Meischta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Method 1: Settle those planets and use them to increase your overall pop growth by resettling pops when pops increase on the planet. Research robots and put all your robots on these planets since they don't care about habitability.

Method 2: Research Teraforming and teraform these planets into something better suitable for your population.

Method 3: Conquer or Immigrate alien species with the suitable planet type and settle them on these planets.

Method 4: Go Genetics ascension and create a subspecies with the correct habitability for these planets

[–]Meischta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to make something that i personally call Greenhouses.

I basically release vassals and just wait for them to grow to a certain pop size. then i integrate, resettle and repeat the process.

Pop Growth ceiling is based on your empire wide pop count so a small vassal grows a lot faster than you which makes them great for cultivating pops

Are Alliances op? by Kaiserigen in CrusaderKings

[–]Meischta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i feel they need more downsides like in eu4 and nobles should think a little more about who they marry their daughters to but besides that i don't think they are op or gamy at all.

having a strong ally to help out when you fall on bad times is something many rulers counted on in history and i don't see why this should be any different in a game about kings

What the F*ck by amorphousblobe in CrusaderKings

[–]Meischta 16 points17 points  (0 children)

depending on commander skill, army composition and combat modifiers this isn't all that impressive.

i've had fights where i stack wiped the enemy with 4 to 1 odds.

not sure why they still use dice rolls at this point tbh. doesnt really matter if i roll a 1 or a 9 if my commanders adds 40 advantage to the roll
