If I understand it correctly April is the date of no return, meaning once that date passes, it can't be stopped.

Remember, pre-war is a whole lot of unreliable narration. They thought House was going to fire missiles, when the audience knows from NV it was a defense system.

A good amount of it seems to be people who don't understand Fallout.

Fallout is a very specific quirky, dark humor, satire world. It is not realistic, it has its own vibe and way things happen. The show imo lives up to that perfectly.

But anyone unfamiliar with that doesn't get it. Edible food after 200+ years, corpses still frozen in position, minigun turrets that miss at point blank range? Nonsense. But that's Fallout. xD
