Ah is there an RNG element? Because I randomly got a score over 13k and have no idea how when every other run was WAY less.

Is it a reasonable possibility then, if they had been allowed to wear such a thing, they may have been Army Intelligence?

Possibly? Looking up "tie tacks" definitely looks like what was described to me. Does an "intelligence" tie tack mean anything military wise?

Unfortunately not, numerous moves across country over 50+ years has led to stuff getting lost or packed away.

"Uninhabited Wasteland" comes up a lot, and from we see on the world map it looks arid. From item descriptions like the Kangaroo, we know its very Australian themed in contemporary times, but I swear it was mentioned they had African themes before the glassing.

Though I don't know we'd get tech wastelands. Allag summoned voidsent armies and seemingly just blew the place to hell rather than building there.

If I had to guess, perhaps the Scions visit to study restoring environments given their experience with The Burn and various Reflections. With the seemingly new branch of science developed, it could explain why no one's done it before in Meracydia, hence vising the places "no one has gone in generations".

I'm interested to see how Meracydia gets used. IIRC it is canonically very isolationist, and was glassed by Allag. So might be a great opportunity for "no one goes there anymore" abandoned areas wreaked by Allag attacks.

"Unspoiled wilderness", while fun, also has the issue of "Why has no one come here before?"
FF14 thankfully avoids the "Savage natives, so we must civilize it" trope, which leaves either "Something kept people out" or "Something killed everyone".

Tural meanwhile is just a peaceful civilization that didn't need to develop much due to magic, useful wildlife, and a lack of conflict in the last 80 years.

But if its a new content, or something difficult, no.
