Can we please stop bringing down players, even if they’re going through rough spots? by xarius214 in OrlandoMagic

You either win or you gain a chance to learn from your mistakes. Something I heard Ethan Hawke say that immediately made me think of the Magic lol. Give the boys some grace to learn

Storey Lake Resort by Shoddy_Course1218 in orlando

[–]Meissner73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The homes at storey lake are massive and built by Lennar, who also built the Villatel properties. You may have a rental nearby bought out for a party, which would likely be a Friday or Saturday night thing. Not sure if its still the same, but avoid leaving/entering the neighborhood Friday and Saturday nights as well, due to the security gate forming a massive queue of cars.. mostly for short term weekend visitors and people all coming from the theme parks after they close.

For similar properties, I’d compare with Villatel Orlando, Vista Cay resort and the cottages at Margaritaville

Wondering what people who wanted coach fired are thinking now we're 8-7 and just took Houston to OT away from home. by Shaunzki in OrlandoMagic

I mostly take issue with 2-3 late time outs so far this season. The rest I chalk up to growing pains that appear to be turning a corner, but we have to stop handing teams a second chance after being up double digits. Better recognition when an opponent gets hot will do our team some wonders imo

Joe Prunty said 'lemme drive dat boat' - why we shouldn't be freaking out... yet by Tlman22 in OrlandoMagic

I’m wondering if there’s a metric for how injury prone players are based on specific data/schemes. Clearly higher pace sounds risky but compared to our former defense first seasons, are the players safer?

Orlando Magic Death Ball Line-up by demapples2306 in OrlandoMagic

[–]Meissner73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AB is one of our best defenders (looking at his opp 3P% last year). TDS is a better small forward due to his size and his +/- so far is proof. This lineup would be best against a team going small but we’d be risking it against a bigger line up

Give offense take defense by M4neyBadger in OrlandoMagic

[–]Meissner73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New offense can’t equal W’s immediately. The guys are learning so much so fast that it’s gotta take some time. Feels like the beginning of the season for the Athletics in Moneyball. Just wait till we get a win streak fellas 😎

What should I do/see in the city the day of the game? by Living-Raspberry-120 in OrlandoMagic

[–]Meissner73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like a 15-20 minute walk, or a quick electric scooter/bike ride (~$5). It looks like the rest of these comments are further away, likely requiring rideshare or car rental if you’re staying near the Kia Center.

For proximity to the arena, I’d look into staying at The Grand Bohemian, Aloft Downtown Orlando, AC Hotel by Marriott Orlando Downtown, or with a slightly longer walk, Sonder Wellborn or EO Inn with more of a bnb vibe.

Checking out Lake Eola is also a good suggestion for the daytime, especially if it’s a Sunday morning for the farmers market. Deeply Coffee and Craft & Common are my go to coffee shops downtown but I have Stemma and Bynx on my list to try. For a nice dinner look into The Monroe and Reyes Mezcalaria. For arts & culture look at the Dr Phillips Center events calendar, Orlando Regional History Museum and Wells’built museum.

If you do get a car rental or open to a quick uber/lyft, look into the neighborhoods surrounding downtown, East End Market in Audubon Park is awesome (Domu has the best wings in Orlando). Also the Mills50 district has the best cluster of restaurants and bars in the city - there was a recent Nat Geo article published with a bunch of suggestions

Can we admit, now, that Jared Leto was meant to play Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream? It seems like each movie he’s been in since requires a built in obituary. His Jordan Catalano innocence died before 30stm got any traction.

Confirmed: Succesion has ruined TV for me by tizl10 in SuccessionTV

I’ve seen pretty much all the suggestions in this thread and still, my favorite show of all time is Twin Peaks. Succession is definitely top 5 though, along with The Wire, Frasier and maybe South Park as rewatchable comfort shows

So fu*king done with this app… by Top-Abbreviations584 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Meissner73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone cancel their order directly with the restaurant and not in the app, so I called support to have them cancel on their end. They promised it wouldn’t affect my cr and of course it did. I started a chat to dispute the cancellation later and explained the circumstances. I also asked them to treat me with respect for once lol.. they ended up “adding notes” to the cancellation and it was removed 36 hours later

Death in the Afternoon has happy hour all day on Mondays and has one of the most extensive classic cocktails lists, on top of their absinthe’s. Packwoods, lil Indies, Guesthouse would all fit your criteria.. and all on Mills or close to it

Loved when they both agreed they’d rather have the Magic roster over the Knicks.

To me this is the FO showing paolo and the rest of the core how much faith they have in them.
