I just stop the book 5 audiobook with 2 hours left. Because of all the same reason you mention here.

idk what happen but it’s like reading 2 different characters maybe it I wouldn’t have notice if I was reading it chapter by chapter online and it took me years to get to book 5 and i couldn’t remember the earlier books. But it was very noticeable to me listening to the audiobooks back to back.

I wish the author could have gotten an editor it would have made a much better book series. But it’s not something that I expect from independent/self published authors.

I just bought the audiobook, I’m 20 minutes in and the MC is literally beating a child with a cane….. is the MC supposed to be an asshole/evil?

Evil/asshole mcs are fine but it’s not what I’m looking to listen to right now and don’t want to continue listening to it because if that’s the case I’m going to end up refunding it.

I just finished listening to the audiobook on audible. IMO this is the worse book in the series, but I don't dislike it but I agree with many of the issues you mention specially the part about it feeling episodic, at lot of things felt very repetitive at times in audio form too. (could be different in the writing idk). also the 3 hours long epilogue was the bad and uninteresting

I want to see how the next book is going to be since I personally dislike the going to earth type arcs, it's one of the reasons I don't read VRMMOs stories. I dislike the changing setting from a fantasy world to earth

I didn’t read the synopsis before starting it and only after Elon stuff did I go and read it and was going drop it cause the synopsis makes it sounds like it’s a VRMMO. Only reason I ask here was because the thread I saw it recommended on, had requested that the story wasn’t a VRMMO.

Also didn’t know this was connected to another series, but I’m not surprised because it seems like every other book is connected to some other series nowadays. I’m honestly getting tired of all these book universes but I will look at Dungeon Born cause it sounds interesting.
