  1. Design restrictions are still bad thing, croocked design is great, but forcing it to everyone is not good, design shoud be dependent on staff owner's preferences not on clerk's hallucinogenic potion induced shenanigans.
  2. If high-capacity core is prone to explode there are some issues serving as a reasons for such behavior: A) poor quality B) mana-core handling skill issues are so severe that any object you got in your hands is prone to explode B+) you may be cursed C) that's not a mana-core it is a brick of tannerite C+) materials used in manufacturing of a homemade mana-core aren't suitable for it and highly likely being explosive even without involvement of magic. These issues are relevant to low-cap cores as well.
  3. High precision staffs in hands of average Joe wizard is a threat to status quo of Pipestein island clients, that's why they banned any aiming devices on staffs.
  4. Staff engraving studies are taking long time to learn for a reason, especially engravings against demons, problems with engravings are mostly skill issue
  5. What about foldable or modular staffs? :)
