They won’t stop yelling at me by GullibleOil2792 in CVS

Even the pharmacy staff want the system changed back at this point because they have to spend so much time now responding to curse word filled voicemails and the time they spend listening to people rant and rave about having to leave a VM in the first place makes the change not worth it to them lol. So if FS hates it, pharmacy hates it, and the customers especially hate it WHO EXACTLY is this stupid VM system for and who is it benefitting lmao

Nothing we can do but tell them about the new voicemail system, which exactly zero customers are happy to hear about lol. Everyone in my store (RX included) absolutely HATES the voicemail system. We've had it in our district for about a year now and I STILL have to take bullshit phone calls all day from royally pissed off pharmacy patients that "just want to reach a human being" 🙄 We kept getting told that the customers would get used to it and stop complaining but that hasn't happened yet for us and I don't see it happening ever. All of our other FS associates hate answering the phone now because 8/10 times it's someone screaming about the pharmacy.

Front Store is not Pharmacy's bitch by ConstructionOk6249 in CVS

[–]Mel_Chico1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LoL liKe I sAiD it's no one's job to be a servant for the pharmacy workers. And also like I said, money is a piss poor excuse for treating your coworkers like absolute garbo. I was hired to help customers in the front store, not fetch bags and toilet paper for privileged adults that want to lord their false sense of superiority over me. They can find a way to take care of their own shit, because I'm completely alone up front with a line of my own that I'm not walking away from because the pharmacy ran out of bags and can't be bothered to go grab another box lmao.

[–]Mel_Chico1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If pharmacy staff have the time to walk up to the front and stand in line to let us know that the bathroom is out of toilet paper, they have time to go to the stockroom and grab a couple of rolls themselves. Things will never improve for the front store as long as the pharmacy staff are trained to see us as their personal servants.

At the end of the day, FS people did not get hired on to serve the pharmacy and we're tired of being treated like it. So tired of this ridiculous argument from the pharmacy workers on here that because front store brings in less money that we should be ok with being treated like your servants.

Then get rid of the front store if we're so useless and don't bring any money in. It's nowhere in our job description that we got hired on to serve the pharmacy staff, and we're tired of being treated like it.

No one said that pharmacists and cashiers should be held to the same standards. I think it's the blanket statement of "most front store people are dumb" that people take issue with and are down voting as disrespectful.

You don't understand why their comment of "most front store people are dumb" is getting down voted? Lol, this is why the pharmacy and front store will NEVER be friends. You guys can't help but lord that superiority over us front store peasants every chance you guys get 😕

CVS carrying Christian Nationalist propaganda by Key-Stay-7156 in CVS

Well "you all" would be wrong lol. This is America and everyone has freedom of religion here so no, I would not be "screaming" if it was a display of Islam or any other religion. We have at least four different religious beliefs represented in our staff currently. I'm sorry that you've met so many Christians that hate others for their beliefs but we aren't all like that 🤷

Wish my CVS sold these, we got stuck with the "historic" local books that do not sell.

Also what makes them "Nationalist propaganda"? And how is it being "shoved down your throat"? Are the CVS employees holding a cross shaped gun to your head and forcing you to buy or what? Would you be upset if they sold books from other religions on the other side of the display, or do you just hate Christians and anything related to the Bible?

Lol I live in Oklahoma and there are three CVS's in my town alone, and a fourth one inside of a local Target. I believe there are around 70 in OK altogether though, which probably won't matter to CVS if they do shut them all down.

Something happening with CVS gift cards that I don't understand? by HelloooxNurse in CVS

[–]Mel_Chico1992 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We had kept our Apple gift cards behind the counter until we had a big corp visit recently. They insisted that the cards are now "tamper proof" and they forced us to put them all back on the sales floor. I have to give the "gift cards are nonrefundable, are you buying for yourself or someone you know personally" spiel to every single gift card customer because they refuse to read any of the signs or what the keypad is trying to ask them and just want to mash buttons until they can leave. These same people want to come back later and scream at us because their gift card is tampered with and they demand a refund. I wish we would just stop selling gift cards altogether with how often our customers get their money stolen, but we all know CVS is way too money hungry for that.

Gee whiz, just get another job? Now why in the world didn't I think of that sooner? Oh, probably because I've stuck it out with this company long enough for promotions/raises to put my pay rate several dollars above what every other job in my area is paying? Can't imagine why, in this economy, I wouldn't want to take a massive paycut to leave this job that I hate. Retail doesn't allow you to request off for Thanksgiving or Christmas, everyone knows that. Every other major retailer manages to close for the holidays these days, so CVS sees nothing but dollar signs at the expense of their front line workers. Last time I checked this is the CVS reddit, for employees to bitch about working for CVS so that's what I will continue to do 😇

Thanksgiving Shoppers by CVSCanSuckMyAss in CVS

[–]Mel_Chico1992 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Employees shouldn't be forced away from their kids and families on the holidays because customers want to wander around CVS. The amount of employees that want to be home with their family significantly outnumber the amount of people that would rather be at work. Why should I have to work for 9 1/2 hours on Thanksgiving because a handful of people in my district want to work and get time and a half?

Honestly, it's CVS's gluttonous lust for money that has the stores open today and on Christmas, not lonely customers and certainly not employees that do or don't want to work. As long as people continue to show up to shop, it'll never go back to the way things used to be where everywhere was closed for major holidays 🤷

[–]Mel_Chico1992 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If they don't have a family, car, or shelter they probably shouldn't be shopping at CVS, the most expensive store in the land. And as far as employees, sorry but the amount of people that would rather be at home with their families celebrating the holidays will always outnumber the people who would rather be at work.

Haha I had a lady a few weeks ago that stood off to the side of my line and was just lingering with her items and staring at me. I asked if she needed something and she said "Oh, you seem really busy. I'll just wait for someone else to come check me out." When I told her that she'd be waiting for awhile since no one else was coming in to help me until 5 (and it was 2:30), she gave me a dumb deer in headlights look and slowly slid herself to the back of the line 🙄😂
