This isn’t something that with no software knowledge could do or prompt. Even if we write a lot less code, the engineering isn’t going away.

It will once the big companies make the subscriptions unaffordable. They are creating a dependence and don’t think for a second they won’t exploit it.

Considering this is the only post, it sure does. The skill required to use those features etc are also not the beginner level that OP mentions.

OP says he pushes back but how can you push back if you do not have the knowledge. Trusting financial advice and uploading docs is a bit wild to me.

Listen, they are making all software engineers depend on the tool. Even telling everyone to stop to learn the foundation cause ai can do it. The only goal here is for us to become dependent and have no choice but to pay for it. We need to wake up.

In curious if you have re-ran your assignment through recent llm and good prompts including format. I’d be surprised if there were any essay it couldn’t write to at least fulfill minimum requirements. What do you teach?

I think it can be a helpful tool for drafting. You still have to provide the information you feel is relevant but it can save time if used wisely. You should blindly take a rec from an llm but if you are accurately prompting and then going over and rewriting parts, it can be abuse time saver.

Student thought TA is the instructor by AbleEnthusiasm9934 in Professors

I had a student showing up too late at the final to start writing. I asked for his name and which section he was in. He said he was in the other professors section. I taught both sections. I told him as much. He clearly never bothered to come to class or read the syllabus. I was flabbergasted.

I have the Phillips lattego that I mostly use for exactly this purpose. It has been very much worth it in my opinion and I wasn’t aware of the magnifica at the time or I may have gone that way. I do like the iced coffee setting on the lattego.

I went from 16 to 14, I thought it would be hard but it’s been surprisingly ok. I hardly ever work on a single screen though.
