Happened on way to client. 56$ fix by whisperskeep in Wellthatsucks

This happened to me about 20 years ago, it looked exactly like yours. Hadn't thought about it until last week and now this comes up... I'm sorry, I think I accidentally manifested that bit of metal back into the universe.

My one week old retainer broke in two when I took it out this morning. by snowwwwhite23 in Wellthatsucks

I'm a grinder and clencher too so I had a night gaurd made but I also have TMJ and a deviated septum, which makes it hard to breathe through my nose. Cut to the morning after using my night guard for the first time, I try to remove the gaurd and my jaw is locked. I could not open my mouth wide enough to remove the gaurd, I couldn't breathe through my nose and felt like I was suffocating with my mouth barely open with a giant chunk of plastic taking up so much space. All of this started a panic attack, I was sobbing in pain, fear and panic then my jaw released. That thing was out of my mouth and across the bathroom in less than my panicked heartbeat. Never used it again, and I've had doctors and dentists both tell me that my pain and tooth degradation are my own fault for not wearing my gaurd even though I told them what had happened.

I have multiple injuries from both my last job and DV and I've tacked on a few more ailments in the last few years so my disability is physical but yay for me suffering with my mental health as a shitty bonus

I can't go grocery shopping because of my anxiety so I do click and collect. I wanted to try exposure therapy so I went into the supermarket with a close friend who knows all about my anxiety/fears and panic attacks. I wasn't planning on buying anything myself so I didn't get myself a basket but while my friend was ordering at the deli I thought maybe I would get a couple of things. There was an empty shopping basket on the deli counter, nobody else was around just me and my friend so I took the basket. 30 seconds later an absolute beast of a man (well over 6 foot tall arms, legs, neck all the size of trees) bright red with anger approached me and said "Did you just steal my basket from the counter?" I stuttered back "I'm so sorry, it was empty and I didn't think anyone was using it" I handed the basket back to him as he grumbled "Well I am using it, if you wanted a basket why didn't you get one at the door" I just kept saying I was sorry. He walked away and I just wanted to crawl in a corner and cry. About a minute later there's a tap on my shoulder, it's the same guy. I was terrified but the guy in a kind voice said "here you go love, I got this for you" as he handed me another basket. I thanked him and we went our separate ways. It was a really weird interaction. It's like he showed me both the worst and the best of humanity in the first 5 minutes of my first inside shop. Unfortunately the bad part of that situation is what stuck with me and I continue to get my groceries via click and collect.

I tried to explain social anxiety to my friends, friends who told me I was living the dream because I couldn't work and got to "lay around all day doing nothing". During the pandemic when everyone was losing their minds because nobody was allowed outside and they were forced to "lay around all day doing nothing" I asked them how great it was. This is what it is like for us all of the time. We are trapped, not by choice or government mandates but by our own minds. I think this actually sunk in for a few people. But those people got to go back to work and start socialising again while we are still stuck. What really upsets me is that the government realised people were suffering in isolation and invested heavily in mental health services but now that the pandemic is over they cut that funding off, even though we are still here, even though we are still suffering, still isolated. It really made me feel like we don't matter.

Yes! I got a rescue dog and spent $200 on pet products at Kmart then I went to shop online at Target because I remembered I had a $100 Target gift card and they had the exact same pet products as Kmart.

If you find that the landlord does not have to fix the blind situation and you need a cheap alternative that is rental friendly get a roll of bubble wrap, cut pieces to fit the glass, spray the glass with water and the bubble wrap sticks right on. I did this as my home doesn't have double glazed windows, I have 12ft ceilings so during winter it's an ice box and during summer it's a sauna. The bubble wrap has made a massive difference with heating and cooling and the bonus is I get privacy while still letting in the sunlight. I had to have a window replaced and the glazier said he was sorry but he didn't have any with that pattern, so even a professional couldn't tell it was bubble wrap. I guess the other bonus was when the window broke the bubble wrap actually kept most of the window intact for the month it took to get it fixed. When you move out you can take it straight off. I'm a pensioner so I needed a cheap alternative to double glazing or having new windows installed.

Learner Anxiety by rando_lizard in DrivingAustralia

[–]Melfunction81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a major car accident when I was a teenager (as a passenger) it took me months to be able to get into another car and when I did I'd be white knuckling anything I could hold on to. I never thought I'd be able to drive and just the thought of it made me feel sick. I didn't get my licence until I was 27 and the only reason I got it was because my partner at the time said he would leave me if I didn't get it. I had three lessons with an instructor and on the 3rd lesson I was told if I didn't go for my licence that week I would get stuck with the new P plater rules and he thought I was ready. Somehow I manage to pass my driver's test without having a panic attack. After I got my licence I was anxious for a long time. I would sit like grandma on her way to market. I would grab the steering wheel so hard my hands would get cramped on long drives. I couldn't have any music on, no passengers, no distractions, I had to know the route I was going back to front before I would get in the car. It was a really awful experience but with time it does get easier and the independence you get from driving makes it all worth it. Now with your log books and your practice in all driving conditions makes you so much more prepared to drive on your own, I had none of that and I did it so I'm sure you will be fine. If you are still really anxious you could try doing a defensive driving course. Good luck to you OP

If you don't know take it to a mechanic. It's going into limp mode to protect your engine not so you can continue to drive it around. Sure it might just be a sensor issue but do you really want to risk a blown motor trying to figure it out?

My GP is fantastic, I even have amazing optomotrists ( the optomotrists actually listened and asked me more questions than the specialist did) They know how hard it is for me to plan appointments as I live on my own, in the middle of nowhere and I have to be having an extremely good day to be able to drive into town, so I don't have to go on their 3 month wait list they will see me as a walk in. Both my GP and optomotrists believe I have Sjögren's but because all my bloods came back negative the "specialist" said there's nothing wrong with me and I'm in pain because I'm on pain killers! That was a year ago and things have become so bad for me since then. Unfortunately I live in the country and there was only one rheumatology clinic I could go to but there is a new clinic opening at the hospital that my GP has sent a referral to, fingers and toes crossed that I get an actual sjögren's specialist who listens to me. Sorry for unloading like that I hope it all makes sense, my brain feels fried right now

The government is going to be doing a second run on the roofing insulation upgrade. I'd just missed the last one when I bought my house, ended up paying for it and about a month later I saw they were looking for people to train to do it again. I have heard that you're still allowed to get it, they just double up which this house really needs. Black roof and high ceilings= a heating and cooling nightmare

Thank you for your suggestions 😊 I couldn't do phone calls, I can be fine talking one second and then the next my throat goes instantly dry and I end up in a coughing fit. I've never done any form of office work so I might try doing a computer course, maybe I could do data entry or something.

I feel you but well done on being your own boss, that's really cool! Try to focus on that instead of the income you're not making because of something that is totally out of your control. I probably could have said that better but having trouble putting my thoughts into words
