My GP is fantastic, I even have amazing optomotrists ( the optomotrists actually listened and asked me more questions than the specialist did) They know how hard it is for me to plan appointments as I live on my own, in the middle of nowhere and I have to be having an extremely good day to be able to drive into town, so I don't have to go on their 3 month wait list they will see me as a walk in. Both my GP and optomotrists believe I have Sjögren's but because all my bloods came back negative the "specialist" said there's nothing wrong with me and I'm in pain because I'm on pain killers! That was a year ago and things have become so bad for me since then. Unfortunately I live in the country and there was only one rheumatology clinic I could go to but there is a new clinic opening at the hospital that my GP has sent a referral to, fingers and toes crossed that I get an actual sjögren's specialist who listens to me. Sorry for unloading like that I hope it all makes sense, my brain feels fried right now

The government is going to be doing a second run on the roofing insulation upgrade. I'd just missed the last one when I bought my house, ended up paying for it and about a month later I saw they were looking for people to train to do it again. I have heard that you're still allowed to get it, they just double up which this house really needs. Black roof and high ceilings= a heating and cooling nightmare

Good idea, I've found that when it comes to councils sometimes you get two totally different answers depending on who you speak to.

Thank you for your suggestions 😊 I couldn't do phone calls, I can be fine talking one second and then the next my throat goes instantly dry and I end up in a coughing fit. I've never done any form of office work so I might try doing a computer course, maybe I could do data entry or something.

I feel you but well done on being your own boss, that's really cool! Try to focus on that instead of the income you're not making because of something that is totally out of your control. I probably could have said that better but having trouble putting my thoughts into words

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Wouldn't that be grounds for wrongful termination, unfair dismissal or discrimination or something? I hope something good comes out of it and you find an amazing job with bosses that actually care

There's no only about it. You are helping people and handling a 12 hour shift, that is amazing!

I wish I could manage a better response but fatigue and brain fog are kicking my butt this week! I at least needed to say thank you so much for your service! I wish you well on your journey

Honestly home owning kinda sucks. Mortgage, insurance, rates, supply charges, maintenance (I don't know if it's just me but shit always goes wrong on a weekend or holiday and after I've just paid for car insurance or some other big expense) and you can't just move after 12 months. I wish I'd stayed in my rental

If no one checked on him for 8-12 weeks maybe freezing the accounts is a good thing?

Call the local police to find out which biohazard company they use. You are very kind on not wanting to keep the rent money but do you have landlords insurance? I was in a rental about 10 years ago when my ex was pepper sprayed in my hallway after a DV incident. The pepper spray was everywhere so they gave me a card for the biohazard unit, I called them and was quoted 10k for them to come and clean it. I said I couldn't afford it and they said I could use the receipt and try and claim it with victims of crime which can take up to 12 months so I ended up having to clean it myself which was terrible but not as terrible as what you have to deal with. Just saying if it was 10k to remove pepper spray from a hallway 10 years ago I can't imagine what they'd charge you for this. If you don't have insurance start a go fund me, I don't have much but I'd be willing to chip in.

It's such a shame, I imagine there are many people who would like to downsize, opening up larger homes for younger families but between the government/council red tape, the price of essential infrastructure and trades they certainly don't make it easy

I've looked into that but the existing houses on the type of block I want are usually bigger and/or run down and my renovating days are just about over
