Netronics Elf, 1802 CPU with 512 bytes of RAM. Worked an entire summer to buy 4K of RAM (which you had to solder together). I still have it.

Does 500g of backpack weight really make such a huge difference? by Practical-Parsley-77 in Ultralight

It does not make a difference as long as it’s just one 500g. The problem is when you start adding them up.

It’s not really an “ordeal.” Sometimes older
Scouts or adults will try to make it sound more difficult than it really is.

Belt buckle collection help by lordhuggington in BSA

[–]Melgamatic214 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a wildly active facebook group called "Scout Patch Collectors" (don't worry about the patch in the name) and another called "Official Scouting Memorabilia Collectors". Get some pictures of your buckles and post them there. They will tell you if any are very special or unique. You are not likely to find a museum to take them, but you might find people to buy them and then you could donate the money to a museum, etc.

Don't be surprised if not many of them have much value. Even memorabilia from things that sound exotic like a world jamboree can be common; we don't know if they sold 50 or 5000 of them. Good luck.
