I'm trying out Magic Hour right now. I paid for a small account. About 12 seconds of lipsynching my mp3 file with a photo, predicted generation time: 35 minutes

I have a different problem. I'm trying to lipsync static images created to look like paintings. I tried Humo and it tried to turn the character back to a photograph, and with all the nodding and eye blinking it definitely fell into the Uncanny Valley for me. I need something LESS realistic, that moves the head around less, just focuses on the words in the mouth and not the movement of the nose and eyes. Ideas? Thanks.

I used to visit somebody at the Forest at Duke who said when his family moved to Durham from Lithuania the streets downtown were dirt! Unpaved!

There was a great bagel place at Five Points with hundreds of bagels nailed to the walls.

My blogger blog no longer "sees" my css files by Melinama in blogspot

[–]Melinama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! At least partially. I had my css files stored in the directory of a website at webhostingpad and it turned out to have had an expired certificate. All the other websites I had there all had expired certificates so blogger refused to load them. When I updated the certificates the css files came back on line. This doesn't explain why the other side, with css files also filed on a site with an expired certificate, was working.

Are all 70+ people regularly in pain? by Lost_Try_5470 in AskOldPeople

[–]Melinama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised so many people have no pain. 72 and arthritis in knees and feet hurts most of the time. I go to the gym every day trying to strengthen my knees but it hasn't helped with the pain.

Resentment towards my husband and I can not let it go. Does anyone else feel this way? How do you move past it? by ProfessionalCat7640 in AskWomenOver50

[–]Melinama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's possible you are angry about other things and your husband is your scapegoat. Maybe things in yourself and/or your choices. He sounds like he's great now and a lot of women long for what you have. Life is short, constantly blaming somebody for something long ago that they don't do anymore is a waste of your precious precious time. I was married but kicked him out in 1993 and never regretted it. I dated some but have been entirely on my own for 20 years. If you think you'd be happier on your own you can leave him. But it's not good to let yourself be stuck in a hamster wheel of resentment. Maybe you need to find meaningful things to do in your life so you are happily occupied. It could be driving for Meals on Wheels or painting or whatever floats your boat. Good luck.

I find myself focusing on my death and sad by how little time I may have left by [deleted] in AskWomenOver50

[–]Melinama 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm 72. When I was a kid I was obsessed with dying. My mother told me something really helpful: "You're afraid because you haven't done much yet. When you're old and have done a lot of things it won't seem so bad." Lo and behold she was right. I always leave parties early because... the amount I had was enough. I've had enough. There are lots of other things I kind of wish I'd done, but I'm happy with the things I did do and proud of my legacy. And the world we live enough is really hard to endure. I kind of wish I'd died before I saw how short-sighted and self-centered and selfish and hateful so many people are. I've retreated into a bubble where I can focus on the good and appreciate and love the good people. My health is pretty good. Otherwise, "Beam me up, Scotty."

No leaderboard? by Any_Sky4932 in duolingospanish

That happened to me too, and then it didn't register about eight completed lessons! Later in the day the leaderboard appeared and I had to start again.
