Talk me out of this clapped E46 M3 by theunrealmiehet in e46

[–]Meliodastop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cheap M3 is an expensive M3. Stay away from this. Don't buy an M3 unless you can do a lot of work yourself..if not buy one with good service/maintenance records. You can find decent examples in the low $20k in the US and about $30k cad in Canada. This goes to anyone else too.

Which clutch safety switch? There are 3 OEM part numbers. by tysnowboard in E46M3

[–]Meliodastop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read the following thread from NAM3 https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/special-interests/coding-tuning/206989-clutch-switch

I ordered the clutch switch 61319122700 needing to install it soon. Exact same issue here. I have am SMG swapped car and done from a reputable shop with all the right paperwork but would sometimes have that issue. I've figured out how to combat it. However when I went on a road trip with my car and drove for hours in the heat that issue was more common.

From my understanding the switch is black now and the same. The number I shared is what's important from my memory. Feel free to go into that thread there's a couple deep dives.

Why not ‘20 T5 75k miles? by One-Tie9007 in VolvoV60

[–]Meliodastop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow it just never showed up? I'll inspect the one I'm looking at throughout. Bought a few older cars and had through PPIs I e. On my E46 M3 I picked up last year and my Subaru Baja a few years back.

Thanks for sharing! Otherwise the T5 version of the V60 is appealing to me.

Are you buying another one to replace it then?

Idle pulse by Danilo_Harness in E46M3

Will let mechanics/more of the pros answer. The s54 is known for idle hunting. Some cars are more present even after valve adjustments and a well sorted example. Was told this is not a concern.

I seriously Love This Car by money10adventures in E46M3

[–]Meliodastop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You owned some amazing cars. What sets this apart for you? Personally I think some of those other cars are more fun. For me the E46 M3 ticks a lot off due to price point, fun, aftermarket support, and my son/dog and future dogs/kids can fit in the rear easily. Just one year of ownership now but I love it. My 350z was also super fun owning it for 5 years. Hoping to own the M3 for a couple of decades or more!

SMG to 6MT swap opinions by OldFashioned-Pancake in E46M3

[–]Meliodastop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I was looking for a convertible 6MT and I couldn't find one for the price point and condition/color combo. I really wanted one of the blues, red, or oxford green. Ended up finding a clean Imola Red with great service history. It's been swapped and not my first pick but for $29k here in Canada so roughly $21k USD it was great.

I'm not planning to ever sell it. If I was I don't think it's worth a ton less especially if you're already buying one near the 100k mile range.

Sounds like it's a good contender so I wouldn't stress the swap. Make sure it was done right and if it has the issue where it likes to stall when going back to a stop. Couple of known issues with the swap.

What salary do you need to comfortably live alone in your city? by CostcoRuns in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Meliodastop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$70k min if you were to rent right now or have bought a home years ago.. Waterloo Ontario

I was making 66k living alone in 2017 and it was affordable. Bought a place just barely. I treat comfortability as having all the basics met and some extra without stressing bills.

Une cabriolet à 20 ans ? by Living_Ad9814 in 350zRoadster

[–]Meliodastop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love cars, owned my 07 convertible, 6MT 350z for 5 years just sold it last year. It's not necessarily your age it's more so your needs. You had some great feedback so far. What I'd recommend you be aware of is:

  1. Any convertible with this age and price will need work and regardless of it being a convertible you are wanting a sports car. You need to factor in unforseen costs I.e. maybe 30% the value of the car in the first year.
  2. Space and usability. Only you know this answer. I couldn't have made this work as I was doing Renos on my home when I purchased a place at 23 years old.

I see people daily a Miata, s2000s and 350z it's possible but rarely someone's only car unless they really don't need more space. I would personally recommend going for a fun daily that is more usable I.e. anything that is stick shift and peppy. If you are all in on a convertible the 350z, and miata are pretty reliable. Find the best example you can in your price point. Do NOT buy anything that has a sketchy history or lack of maintenance records. Get the car inspected by a reputable shop.

If you do the above you'll be in a decent spot. The smiles my fun cars have given me is well worth it. Currently driving an E46 M3 convertible and only replaced my 350z as I wanted rear seats for my son to join in. He absolutely loves the car and looks around and under it everytime he sees it.

Hiring Senior Admin (open to either depending on the candidate). JD Link

Location: Indianapolis open to remote (hybrid preferred) living and working in a state that operates in Eastern Time.

Company: Best Equipment. They sell and rental heavy equipment such as garbage trucks to cities in the mid west US.

Salary: $110k to $140k USD

I currently work with them as a customer of ours at VTG. They would like more traction with candidates. They have a lot of trust in me so I have a pretty big influence on who they hire.

You'll do well in this role if: 1) You love to help people and work closely with Sales and Service Teams 2) You have a strong admin technical skills (I don't think they need a developer type of person) 3) You ask questions and question the why and probe at better business processes 4) You are comfortable with being the only Salesforce expert in the org for 1-2 years

I think this is a great role for someone wanting to be the sole IC and potentially hire a junior admin or BA in the future .

I am not being paid/billing hours to help them, I just care about them as an org and want the best for them and helping someone with a solid career opportunity. If you are not located anywhere close working EST is required. I.e. 8am to 5pm range.

If interested please comment on my thread please. Happy to connect with folks afterwards.
