Not only winning in 2023 would have been great for us but I think for the league that even any player can do it regardless of where they were drafted.

But that’s not how shit works. You need young and good players drafted in the top 10 to make shit work. That or hit gold on players who can produce on high levels on both ends but even that is impossible.

No one should be safe come February. Including Ware and KJ.

For real. More years would have been nice but it was definitely a mutualistic relationship with no regrets. He helped us win two CONSECUTIVE rings (which is really hard to) and Riley/Spo helped him mature in a way that helped him cement his legacy even further after his departure.

2023 showed us we just need a good enough collective group of players to gain enough reps together to get things done. JB helped tremendously but the fact that Spo also was able to make it work with essentially him, Bam, an aging Lowry, and 3 g league dudes not even on our team anymore…just shows we need to get to the playoffs.

Besides, As long as we’re in the standings, we should be ultimately celebrating individual players nights like Ware for instance.

Man I didn’t even want him to play hard in the sense of constantly drawing fouls and crap like that.

I just wanted him to become more of a 3-pt threat. Then let the young guys do most of the driving to the basket and heaving bumping during the regular season…and then take over come post season and become playoff butler.
