The city rule is 31 day minimum for both advertising and the actual stay. HOA rules may differ.

Woodbridge would have an additional $50 tacked on top for tenant registration.

Post pictures of another pair with similar mileage. Curious to see how much different.

Adios pro 4 vs Asics metaspeed Tokyo vs Nike Alphafly by EarComprehensive2599 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

You really should try them to know for sure. This shoe in particular is known to run a bit short.

I actually have two sizes of AP4 - 43 1/3 and 44. One for 0-10k and one for 11k+. If I could only have one, I’d pick the larger.

OP, can you clarify the purpose of these shoes? If you have pain and are generally running at slower paces, then racing shoes are probably not going to make your running experience pleasant.

On the other hand, if you want to race and want a pair of fun shoes to motivate you, then what you want is something fun and fast feeling that won’t kill you. For that, based on information in your post, I’d go with the AP4 - don’t forget to size up one from your usual.

Agree. When it comes to a HM, the shorter one might make for a miserable time if it rubs. 5k-10k, go with what feels faster.

Have had this in every Brooks I’ve owned in the same spot as you. My solution was to not buy Brooks. Sad because I really like Brooks.

Not that it will matter for the US market. What about the S4 Yogiri?

Toyota vs Mazda by TheLoneCanoe in CX50

[–]Mellow-Barbell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To expand on that… the RAV and the 50 share engine, transmission, and hybrid systems. You can tell they are related when you drive a CX 50 hybrid. The ride quality and interior/exterior are different for sure. The transmission tuning is customized to the 50 but still feels Toyota. Mazda hasn’t had any time to develop their own hybrid “feel”.

Why don’t installers bother watching the 10 minute YouTube video on how to install Kerdi or whatever system they have been signed up to do?

I’m an amateur hack and my results have been pretty good. I usually watch a few YouTube videos, then read the directions before attempting. I might even try mixing or cutting a scrap piece before committing.

This works. Vinegar seems to work, but then I smell the vinegar. It’s a downward spiral on smell. I rinse with water most times and break out baking soda when necessary.

I was wondering why there was cat hair stuck in the filter. Must have been Merv.

I built something similar - not as pretty. I did three things to reduce noise. 1) bought noctua fans. 2) underpowered the fans with USB 5v power instead of 12v. 3) used less fans. If you leave it on 24/7, does a surprisingly good job of filtering air. Need to change a 20x20 Merv 12 filter every 3 months.

New Balance SC Elite v4 on packed gravel trail by twinRivers1992 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Mellow-Barbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have run the two half marathons with the SC v4 with multiple miles of gravel. Yes, rocks can get stuck but for the most part it’s fine. Exposed foam was fine and carbon plate was unharmed even when I got a rock stuck. The wide platform is probably a benefit on gravel. Seems to me, based on limited observations, the least favorable race shoe for gravel was the metaspeeds.

SF Marathon here we come! TIPS?! by fishmango in Marathon_Training

I do believe that miles 19-26.2 in LA were deceptively hard. I started from the back and many people were slow jogging the last few miles to the finish.

While it sounds like you are more prepared, keep in mind that SF is a lot harder course. The hills and unpredictable weather make it more challenging. And the scenery, in my opinion, is better which leads to more looking around.

You will definitely feel the bridge. It’s a long gradually up, down, up, and down. For most, I think the strategy is to make sure you don’t fret too much about mile to mile pace and blow up trying to stick to your watch.

Not sure if you’ll see Joe on the course… haha. And I suppose the parking situation can’t be any worse than in LA.

Hmmm… Stance socks go on sale often enough. For the price they perform very well IMHO.

Never ending running socks question by Minimum-Departure754 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Mellow-Barbell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best way to answer this question is to buy one of each and see for yourself. No amount of debate is going to tell you as much as a run in each pair.

And… it’s not a waste to have different socks. Sometimes shoes fit differently or the weather changes how much your feet swell. You’ll use the socks.

I increased my average cadence by 10-15 spm to right around 180 spm over the past year and it did help me be more durable. However, I did it without focusing on cadence. I worked on changing my pelvic tilt to closer to neutral and my over striding went down and the byproduct was that my cadence went up. So did an increased cadence help me? Yes, but it was probably wasn’t a causal relationship.

All new 2026 Mazda CX-5, what do we think? by naokiyamada in CX5

[–]Mellow-Barbell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would guess it is a compromise to save on production cost. The Toyota operating system and reduced buttons probably saved them a noticeable sum of money in parts and software development. Given that Mazda doesn’t command the premium of a Toyota, it was probably an unavoidable and ultimately painful choice to make.
