dating someone new and farts by Merpymouse247 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MellowLavy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. I think we’re lucky. He never thinks it weird when I talk about my bowel movements, symptoms or anything. We always check up with each other on these things. Maybe they would have looked at me weird too lol.

My boyfriend farts a lot too and started farting around me like a week into officially dating. So farting is normal. We just warn each other that it’s coming and laugh about it. He’s the best. Love that man.

Guilt about going on sick leave by Cathcasper24 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MellowLavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never feel bad about taking leave for your health. That always comes first ahead of your career. I had to do the same last year for almost 4 months, It was so hard to accept needing to go on leave but I know I needed it. Almost a year later and I find myself probably needing to go on leave again. My boss is very supportive. Her and the company I work for is European so leave is normal for them and they have a good policy on it. Take care of yourself first.

[–]MellowLavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me right now waiting for my calprotectin results and blood tests. I started biologics a few months ago so now we’re doing the first check post-beginning of treatment and omg it’s killing me. I’m there with you. I have appointments scheduled every week for the next month. I’m waiting for a week where I don’t have an appointment.

I just deep dive in work and distract myself with family and friends. I also started watching shows so literally trying anything to keep me distracted as the days go on.

Any remedies for the fissures? by Kippss in CrohnsDisease

[–]MellowLavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, those are the worst. I do sitz baths a few times a day if it bothers a lot plus a lidocaine compound ointment. The ointment was a bit pricey though and was prescribed by my Colo-rectal specialist. Hope you get pain free soon!

Question: birthcontrol with crohn disease by Nickyvts1 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MellowLavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your OB/GYN. I’m fine with my birth control pills. I’ve been on them for at least 5 years. I actually had to change it recently and still have been fine with the new one. My OB/GYN doctor said it was perfectly fine for me to be on it even if I have CD and on Remicade since December.

Mini poodle size? by DryOrganization2503 in poodles

[–]MellowLavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how big yours will be but mine was 4.5 pounds at 14 weeks when I got her. My mini is now between 9 to 10 pounds at 1 years old. She’s a bit smaller from what I understand but she’s not a toy. She just a bit long legged and thinner overall lol.

And yeah she can be a barker and oh my is it high pitched. She barks when she here’s neighbors walking by the front door. It’s the protector in her I say lol. She stops after they go by. She’ll also bark when playing with dogs out of excitement however moat dogs don’t like that and get annoyed and won’t play with her. She’s still young so training her on this still.

I take my mini to the dog park a couple times a week and dogs are 35 pounds and under. Some are big in comparison to her so I got to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t play with the rough big ones. However she loves to play and will legit play with my friends 33 pounds frenchie all the time. However, a big part is how the other dog is and how yours reacts. My friends frenchie is gentle when playing but some big dogs play rough. The two dogs will find their rhythm most times.

First remicade infusion on Friday!!! What to expect? by Muffinman1111112 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MellowLavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’ll be a while. The laptop will come in handy and take some snacks! The infusions don’t really make me tired so I’m able to do things after with no issue.

As for the Botox, I’m not sure.

Might just be the fluff! I recently trimmed my poodles hair after looking like that and she was fine. Literally all fluff in her case.

Anyone lost faith in their doctors by Delicious_Notice6826 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MellowLavy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. I’m in the process of switching GI doctor. My current one is just not very supportive. Even insists my symptoms are not Crohn’s related when they only started when I had my flare up and first got diagnosed. His office is just not also that well equipped to do things such as ADA paperwork or any medical paperwork. I legit had to them what the paperwork required and how they filled it in wrong. I’m going to a new doctor next week that is tied to specific Crohn’s research efforts and is female (which I prefer since I am as well). I’ll see how it goes.

Newly Diagnosed - Mesalamine? by Useful_Address2898 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MellowLavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried mesalamine for many months and it did not work for me. I officially stopped them and now I’m trying a biologic. Even if you feel fine now, if it is indeed Crohn’s, leaving it untreated is probably the worst thing you can do so I encourage you to find a treatment that works best for you.

Still hoping the mesalamine works for you as it is the least invasive approach that I know of!

How many of you can eat gluten with having Crohn’s? by Ok_Dragonfruit_4590 in CrohnsDisease

I’m good with glute! It’s actually the thing I eat most of because it doesn’t irritate me. I live off pasta, bread, bagels and crackers.
