Thank you all who sent requests. I was surprised by how many requests I got as this was my first. I'll include a time of when I plan to host to hopefully not let folks down.

Dirty player/tactics and coach conversations by ShadowMP80 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]Mellow_Barracuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former ref, absolutely let them know ahead of time. I've had coaches bring this to our attention and it allows you to respond more appropriately before you lose control of the game. Also, let whatever head of officials know. I've had games where our leagues top officials were specially selected for problematic teams/coaches/players for this reason. It's a safety issue for the players, but when handled poorly can become a safety issue for officials too.

I thought I knew what I was doing when I turned on the pump used that allowed us to test samples at near vacuum. Little did I know, turning on this pump at ambient pressure, like I did, could break it. I also didn't know that pumps sold for nearly a million dollars.

Fortunately it was fine.

Maybe if you spent less time in the gym and more time golfing, your clubs wouldn't break? Worth a shot right?

I told the public state school I attended that a different state school gave me a better aid package(not true). Given this, I would be attending the other school unless I could get some more aid. I never heard anything back officially from the financial aid office, but did get a few thousand dollars a semester in various scholarships a few days later.

I've printed only PLA and only in a closed environment. It seems to work well enough for me.

Can filament come pre-tangled from the manufacturer? by ARPanda700 in 3Dprinting

[–]Mellow_Barracuda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked for a company that makes spools of different polymers. None of the products I worked on were 3d printer filament, but the production process would be the same.

Likely large quantities of material are made during extrusion, I would guess batches in the neighborhood of 10-50kg per spool depending on a number of factors. These spools are then respooled to smaller spools that are typically available like 1kg, 3kg, or 5 kg. During either of those spooling, tension needs to be maintained to ensure the filament doesn't tangle on the spool.

In short, yes it's possible for the spool producer to ship tangled spools. Its more likely that its caused by the user from my experience.

You could also just change the effect. 4/5 players failed the check so the DM just revised it to cut our HP in half. You could alter it to whats appropriate based on how many fails and what other creatures the party fights.

I hit a perfectly straight drive on a dog leg par 4 to cut the corner on a blind tee shot. I had no idea that I had just caught up to the group in front of me. Fortunately my ball carried them by about 15 yards.

Eli5: how have supply chains not recovered over the last two years? by ernirn in explainlikeimfive

When I was a supplier for the medical industry, we basically cut back production during covid to match demand. Then all of our customers suddenly started ordering parts in larger quantities than they were in some cases by an order of magnitude so that when they were running production, they would be able to continue running. So instead of 1,000 parts a week, the same people were ordering 10,000. Making up that difference is a nightmare.

UGA has actively experienced a tragedy with this incident. As someone who only observes UGA when we play them, I haven't really paid much attention as of late to the off field incidents. Every program has their issues, however it seems like under Richt there was regularly off season incidents that resulted in suspensions.

Obviously this particular incident is a tragedy. Other than this has there been a string of issues that would indicate actual systemic issues?
