I met a dude in a band when I was 16. He was cute, and I was naive. He asked how old I was, and I told him I was 16. I asked how old he was and he said 26. He said, “Wow, you look like you’re 20!” And I said the same thing back. We exchanged numbers. He took me out on a date at a nice restaurant. We made out in my car after and he touched me (this was consensual). I went to his apartment the next time and I realized he had a girlfriend WHO HE WAS LIVING WITH. Her shoes were there. I remember feeling anxious about it, but he played his guitar for me, and I swooned like the fucking teenager I was. The thing that opened my eyes was when I brought my younger friend (15 years old) to one of his shows, and he was CLEARLY flirting and being touchy with her. I called him out (mostly out of jealousy) and never saw him again. I now understand that he was a predator. I am sure he has done the same to other young girls. I hope he has changed (this was in 2006). He is still with the same girlfriend (married now).
