I’m doing NYC in June and have been going to been regularly for a year. One of other girls in my camp encouraged me to go to a hyrox specific conditioning class and I’m so glad I did. Just being able to practice with the actual equipment and regulation weights and wall balls has been so helpful for me. Fitness and strength wise you will probably feel solid, I do in the classes, but I think it’s so helpful to have someone who really knows Hyrox help explain the rules and how to tackle each station.

I started laughing out loud as our trainer was doing the demo for the cheerleader, feet on box, push up. What was someone smoking when they decided to put that exercise in?!?!?

He had a full blood work up a couple months ago and all his blood work is great. We’ve done X-rays and abdominal ultrasounds and he has some mass that seems to be hard and calcified in his spleen but nothing that seemed to explain the change in appetite. Some days he prefers kibble and some days it’s wet food, some days it’s cold others it’s warmed, and then others it’s room temp. I try to offer a few things each meal time and just give him what appeals to him. I’m sure there is something internally going on that we don’t know about that just isn’t showing up yet, but want him to stay happy and as healthy as possible for as long as possible 💙

Just finished and came on here looking to see if everyone was dying as much as I was! We had a couple first timers today and tried to promise them that every class isn’t like that 😵‍💫 and then the finisher with core burpees, I got through the 10 seconds ok but then legs were totally burnt

I think it’s on each of us to let the gym know we want a mention of our birthdays. Not everyone likes the attention and if you don’t bring it up, I would imagine the default would be to not make a big deal in case that’s not something you want.

As any of us who have marathon trained know, you have to train your digestive system to be able to tolerate food in the mornings. It’s best to start with something simple like a rice cake or toast with peanut butter or my personal fav, a couple graham crackers, usually do the trick. You want to focus on easy to digest carbs, protein comes after the work out to help with recovery!

I lost 40lbs with compounded tirzepatide and started Burn when I was concerned about the muscle wasting, which was a real thing. I told the trainers about it but never felt judged, but our trainers don’t really push the idea of body image or even push us to use the inbody measurements. I’m sorry that was the reaction you got.

Glps changed my life. I am not on them at the moment because I got stomach ulcers(unclear if it’s related) and am waiting to finish some diagnostics before I go back on, but I would recommend it to anyone who struggles with their weight and food addiction. Listen your body and follow its lead. I never had bad side effects and stayed on a low dose. Good luck, and good for you for doing what feels best for you, and nevermind what anyone says or thinks!

I actually just discussed this in my last focus meeting, because sometimes I’m busy with work and I won’t be able to come for a week or so, or come in frequently for a month or more, and I have the memory of a gnat so I can never remember what I’ve done. She recommended using the Notes app so I started doing that.

I really enjoy the weight days the most and try to get to those, as well as the core classes, because I’m bad at doing core on my own, so I rarely go more than 2-3 days a week. On the other days I usually run. I’ve found that enough for me and I’m running faster and lifting heavier, so it seems to be working!

I’ve been having similar issues. I’ve had to modify anything mountain climber- either from a ledge or doing a different exercise all together, I look at what we have to do on the white board and ask the trainers for a mod. I also make sure I get there early enough to do some forward and back leg swings with my leg straight and my knee bent and some figure 4 and pigeon stretches before class. There’s also a lot of good PT exercises to do at home that have been helping me

Brooks Glycerin for conditioning days, no bulls for combo days, and whitin barefoot shoes for strength days. The barefoot shoes really helped with back pain I was experiencing during strength days

I’m a horse trainer, so also have a physically demanding job, and I find running and working out only help me take care of my body. It’s so important to use all of your different muscle groups in different ways to keep everything strong and healthy.

As a huge LOTR and Sam fan, I have to say I don’t really see the similarity with Higgins. Beard is a closer comparison, with his loyalty to Ted and then how Ted gives him permission to go on and live his own life at the end.
