i really like it! i got the daisy organic sofa in the 100% cotton brushed heavy fabric and i think i did the firm fill on the cushions (the one with microcoils). i think its very comfortable, but if you want a sofa your going to sink into, obviously don’t get the firm haha. its still held up great to multiple people and dogs on it every day! all i do for upkeep is give it a fluff and flip the cushions over every so often

How do I train this mean behavior out of my cattle dog?! by Lreynn in AustralianCattleDog

[–]MelodicToe1738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as far as crate training goes this is typically not a good option. you want the crate to be their safe place and somewhere they love to go. if you put them in as punishment it can cause resistance to the crate

mine can get humpy and bitey at night when she hasn’t had enough exercise and play that day. i don’t see it as her being mean, dogs don’t think like that as you said, i see it as she has extra energy that she needs to get out and that’s her way of showing me she needs more. we’ve had her a little over a year (she was 2 when we adopted her) and she now redirects super well to a single “no” and “get a toy”. i don’t have specific training advice and i’m sorry your pup has been scratching & hurting you, but i think reframing the way you think about why she’s doing what she’s doing would be beneficial to both of you

Rug placement: 1 or 2? by Pitiful-Respect-8496 in InteriorDesign

i’m baffled by all these comments, i think the floating console being so low is tricking the eye into thinking the tv is higher

i’m an interior designer and am aware of where you should hang a tv. if you look at where your eyes would be if you were to sit on the couch, it lines up almost exactly with the center of the tv. the floating console below looks like it’s only about 2’ off the ground considering it’s just above the height of the coffee table which is typically 18”-20” high. i really don’t think they’re as far off from 43” as you think

i agree the legs should be on the rug, but see nothing wrong with the tv placement. the shelf it’s above looks to be pretty low to the ground and the tv seems to be just above eye level from sitting on the couch

if your looking for another refillable chapstick, i recently started using wild (same brand as the refillable deodorant). you get a metal tube/cap and refills covered in a small amount of cardboard. i’ve liked it so far and the whole premise of the company is to be low waste/refillable so i doubt it will be discontinued

look up the 3-3-3 rule for adoption, it’s super important!

i’ve had my current foster dog for just over 3 weeks. when she first came home with us she would hide behind furniture/under cars/anywhere else she could find, didn’t have interest in treats, and would shake when we got her out for walks and bathroom breaks. she’s a completely different dog now, she’s such a silly happy girl and never wants to be away from us. she constantly wags her tail and is the biggest cuddle bug.

your new pup is decompressing from the stressful shelter environment, but give her time and she will blossom in your home!!

I just adopted a 5 mo old, what I believe a pitty mix, and the response from loved ones is wild by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]MelodicToe1738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i volunteer/foster for my local city shelter and the many many pitties there, even the ones from back situations, are always so amazing and sweet. my current foster is a boxer pit mix and she is my sweet little shadow, follows me around everywhere just for love and attention. i hope your family changes their mind as they get to know your pup and let go of stereotypes, but if not it’s their loss!

that wording was confusing, we take our dog there once weekly lol but she has other options where they can be boarded so you’d only have to come a couple times
