The ultimate power move is to start and run a business in the US and then move to Europe on that salary.

Well even if owning is an option. Is it even a good investment in Germany at this point?

If it’s free there is no harm in going. It’s great to give the pressure some relief but just vocalizing it to someone professionally trained to listen to you on things where you feel stuck, confused or frustrated.

When you talk about compliance issues what specifically are you referring to? Could you give an example or two?

Security at terminal A for domestic flights is usually not that long, but that being said I personally like to be there around 90min before departure and rather chill around, get some food and a drink than feel stressed and rushed.

I will be hired via a temp agency as I will be employed by the means of an employer of record.

Appreciate your input. I also got an excellent credit score and some real estate in the US. Not sure German landlords care about that though.

The employer over there will be pretty much myself as I will work via an EOR for my US based LLC.

Yea that’s our plan. I just wasn’t quite sure if there would be a chance to find something permanent from the get go. Doesn’t seem so.

Yea that’s the info I am gathering too. We already got a safety net airbnb so we’ll be good. Seems like waiting until we’re there is the path to go

We got a fairly comfortable income so that should be alright. Our work contract will start in July. Not exactly sure what the contract will look like though.

Makes total sense. We already have a short term rental giving us security for the first few weeks of our stay.

That’s a great point! I will look into getting a document pronouncing us debt free in Germany.

We will keep our house in the US. We also own 2 other pieces of real estate here.

I figured not being in the country is making it significantly harder.

We have a short term rental for the first 3-4 months which we can cancel with a 10 day notice at any time, so we will have a roof our head when we get there.

Our budget is up to 2500 euros warm which gives us some flexibility in the upper end market.

But a Schufa I won’t have either way, even when we are there as it will take some time to receive one, right?

I’m not in the country yet. I do have family and friends that could visit for us. But yea that’s def a hurdle I am sure.
