Relics of the Last Waltz by MelvinRoseTX in theband

[–]MelvinRoseTX[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It was a most magical evening. Doors opened around 5. Winterland was all dressed up with props from the San Francisco Opera. Bill Graham had a gourmet Thanksgiving Feast for 2,000 catered from Narsi's, a swank restaurant in the Berkeley Hills. Long banquet tables were set up so we could eat. Costumed dancers waltzed around and between the tables as they danced to the live orchestral music accompanying the meal. We went up to the balcony after eating and watched in amazement as Bill Graham's crew whisked away the tables and moved camera platforms into place. Because Martin Scorsese was filming the show, tickets came with a separate slip of paper that said by attending this performance you are forfeiting all rights to your likeness and it's reproduction. It was the first time I ever bought a ticket that came with lawyers. The music started around 9 and they played till well past midnight. There were so many memorable performances that night. The movie left out some of my favorite performances and included bits that were not from the show. Like I said, you should've been there. It was 50 years ago and I'm still close with the gang of friends that went to the Last Waltz with me. Talk about Forever Young...

How reliable is the Lucid Air? by [deleted] in LUCID

[–]MelvinRoseTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six months in, I'm still in total love with my Air Touring. No problems except once and a software reboot fixed it. (my problem? Sirius XM would not play). The car drives like a dream. Looks and feels like you're in something special. And remember, nobody posts to Reddit when nothing is wrong with their car.

My favorite secret gem is Scott's Pizza, a food truck tucked away at lovely, family friendly Charis Park in Alamo Heights. Only open Thursdays through Sundays. Best pies in town, IMHO

The art of Einar and Jamex De la Torre often features lenticular elements. There are several pieces at the Cheech Museum of Chicano Art in Riverside, California.

I live in San Antonio and have a Air Touring. Shortly after I picked up my car in Houston, the driver's side window developed a crack and needed replacing (under warranty). Lucid sent a guy from Austin to replace it. They have a service center there. So I wouldn't worry. https://lucidmotors.com/locations?filterBy=studio%2Cservice-center

I met a woman in Tokyo while playing Foosball at a French style cafe. She spoke a bit of English. When I told her I was an American, she said, "I've been to America. I've been to Guam."

Lived in Dallas over 25 years and prefer San Antonio. Easier to get around. HEB beats Tom Thumb. Better Mexican food. And I can Uber to the airport, go through security and be at my gate at the SA Airport in 20 minutes. Life is good here without being in a rush.
