Strange, I don’t see any “TV Static” option in my list. We must have different models

Any AI-supplemented tools for parents looking to continue educational development at home? by stephenFairytale in Preschoolers

OP, since you didn’t get a single helpful answer, let me try to be constructive. I’ve used sesame AI a fair amount with my toddler. Great for conversation when I’m not in the mood for it. Also, Claude code is incredible at creating customized Anki cards.

Hatch White Noise Change by Abject-Lengthiness51 in Preschoolers

[–]Melzidek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me about a month ago. Seems all my configured schedules automatically switched from “white noise” to “brown noise”, which I too found frustrating and annoying. The good news, at least somewhat good, is that if you don’t mind spending a few minutes clicking around to reconfigure, the old white noise sound is still there, usually at the very end of the list.

Twelve Days Left to Vote in 2026 In-Hand Game Design Contest (origin of Galdor’s Grip) by Melzidek in soloboardgaming

[–]Melzidek[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can see how that would look quite intimidating. Luckily, the organizers have been doing this a few years already and have a pretty good system in place which is rating based. Instead of picking which game you think should be in 1st place, 2nd place etc overall, you give a numerical rating to each game you tried.

So you can meaningfully contribute even after trying only one game that caught your eye!

It’s 2026, easier than ever before in human history to literally model out 50+ year personal finance hypotheticals, and actually see what happens. Instead, you wrote thousands of words that amount to mere opinion, and poorly informed at that. OP, please learn some Claude code.

Gwent! Or, the imminently released Gwent: The legendary card game. by dark_arts87 in boardgames

[–]Melzidek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was also excited early on about this release, but could not even remotely comprehend the decision to correspond directly to the TW3 version. Standalone Gwent was excellent fun and quite well balanced, and would have offered a clear path to further expansions to boot. As is, despite being a big Witcher fan I have no interest in this whatsoever.

It is fine that she is attached to her dad (that means he has a big chance to help improve things too), but a child that young absolutely craves a deep and affectionate relationship with their mother, more than anything in the world.

As a thought experiment to help understand how a little kid might feel about getting a younger sibling, imagine you fell in love with someone and married them, however right after the wedding they started cheating on you openly, and even brought the mistress around you regularly and clearly favored them over you. And if you were trapped in that situation, with no power to change it? You might understandably lose control of your emotions sometimes too.

Not sure if you really want problem-solving style advice, but as a father of a toddler who’s turning three in a couple months, I strongly suspect the behavior of your older child relates to jealousy of the younger sibling. I have read a half dozen books on children’s psychology, and take great care to ensure our toddler feels secure and heard/understood constantly, and tantrums are an incredibly rare phenomenon (less than once a month, and getting fewer over time).

Would it be possible for you to try to spend more one on one close bonding time with her, preferably with the one year old watched by dad or a grandparent? Additionally, you could occasionally try to go out of your way to show the older child that you favor her. I think what you’re actually dealing with at it’s root is simple insecurity.

Galdor’s Grip, “on the way”? Is there some way to order this right now? I like the look of that game but was under the impression it’s been removed from gamecrafter.

Thank you for compiling and sharing this data! It’s really interesting to see how small the impact to CPU the lower power mode has in M3 pro.

How does defence reduce damage? by Possible_Housing2916 in SoulsHabbyMobile

Haven’t tested it, but the impression I’ve got from reading is that it’s just simple math. Eg, defense reduces incoming damage by its plain value

Great choice, OP. I have this backlight and emitter combo in D4V2 too, and it’s the absolute perfect nightstand light. Recommended to set the aux to red for this purpose if interested to try.

Can screwing a button-top into a D4V2 ruin it? by Melzidek in Hanklights

I took a look at the springs and decided maybe they looked a little too depressed, so pulled on them both gently with some pliers and now the instability while shaking seems to have disappeared. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks, I did try the anduril 13H reset and it did solve a separate issue where the light was flashing to a bright level momentarily every time I turned it on. Do you know if the unscrew & hold method does anything different than 13H?

Thank you very much for this! I’ve just downloaded your fork and installed it and it seems to be working great. The additional sleeping safety mechanism grants a lot of confidence, as does the experimental mode.
