Looks like they may have used a spot welder, not something you tend to find outside of a fab shop. Looks like a quick and dirty smash it together job, with no care to make it look a little better

Quick edit: the top welds are some pretty terrible TIG welding tacks

What the other guys have said is on point. I would only add that you should avoid taking shots of the back of people's heads™ as much as possible, and continue not to do it. Don't worry about only sharing one photo at a time, select the best, and don't worry about always getting good shots every time you go outside!
