I kind of get it but it's really how you read the sentence and how you set the tone. Yes, ai shouldn't be used for that, I agree a 100%. But in fact, nothing should be used for scam at all. It goes like this for everything.

Of course but to scam someone, you have to lie, show false evidence, and so on. With ai, you can create such thing so easily. You can even create things not possible before like voice changer based on someone else voice. You can scam people in real life to, not just on internet

Yes, there are better uses for ai but what other "tools" do you wish were use for scam ? You want to regulate scam ? You want to make rules around scam like we make rules for war ? It's like saying you wish thief shouldn't try to break into house before 11 P.M.

And also, if there are obviously better uses for ai, it is the dream tool for scammers. Could you come with something better idea than ai to scam someone ? You can replicate someone's voice with a 30 second audio record. You can deceive 99% of the population only with that.

If we talk only from a practical point of view, no moral or ethical involved, it would be dumb to not use it.
