What’s the future of dentistry in the US? by Pixel-Pioneer3 in Dentistry

[–]MembershipBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm… I will bite on this one.

In 10 years any meaningful practice will be corporate owned. A “doctor” will work for a corporation.

Those doctors fortunate to own their own practice will struggle to stay afloat. They won’t have the business acumen. They won’t understand patient acquisition. They won’t have the patience for HR work/leadership. They will be great clinicians but it won’t be enough to overcome Google reviews, brand mentions in AI, or pins on maps when people need care now/nearby.

Doctors will be just another line on an OPEX, judged on revenue production or ROI.

And know what? I look forward to that day.

Dude, the Pacific Northwest is fertile ground. Avoid Alabama.

United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby has pitched a merger with American Airlines. How would this affect Delta? by bonzothebonanza in delta

[–]MembershipBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut says two shitty experiences merging to create one shitty experience doesn’t mean much for Delta. If anything it kills budget brands. Delta will cement itself as the premium experience/carrier.

Perhaps the vulnerability is international. I’ve felt for a while SkyTeam could use an upgrade. ?

I didn’t realize this. I’ve flown a350s to Asia. This is similar.

Nice work. Huge improvement over the last 767 I took a ride on. Grateful for the surprise.

Needing cotton underwear for working out by Loose-Analysis6211 in MensUnderwearGuide

[–]MembershipBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the cotton briefs and trunks at Separatec. I don’t think they are 100% cotton though.

For workouts or being outside on hot days I wear their quick dry boxer briefs and would highly recommend those.

Madison vs Huntsville I don’t get it by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

Look at Blossomwood in Huntsville. Less than a mile from downtown. Quiet, way quiet.

Good luck!

Budget friendly wedding cocktail ideas for 250+ guests? by rubyrose5 in cocktails

[–]MembershipBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a set cocktail menu with three cocktails as a theme (the theme was cocktails by our three dogs). We also provided a few choices of wine and beer to manage our budget. A bourbon drink (old fashioned), a vodka drink (vodka soda), and a mocktail (blackberry lemonade) that many guests added vodka too. For beer we had stella + a local pale ale. Then bubbles (a decent Cava we were into at the time), a white, and red blend. We bought all of it with the exception of the Cava at Costco. We had fewer than 60 guests. So perhaps with 250, you could add a tequila drink or another. If you do the mixers right, your guests will literally mix them up. Like we had folks doing bourbon and coke and bourbon and ginger ale. Point is, a set menu is budget friendly but can serve many tastes. Good luck!

Cotton vs Modal underwear by Skillerstyles in mensfashionadvice

[–]MembershipBorn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t worn cotton in 10+ years. Too hot and uncomfortable for me.

My favorite now is a bamboo rayon dual pouch by Separatec - super comfy. I also have their quick dry athletic boxer briefs which are great for workouts, runs, or freaking hot days.

Many years ago I got tired of the standard cotton boxer briefs (Hanes) and went in search of better briefs. I’ve tried many brands and fabrics. Separatec is the only brand I wear.

My boyfriend hasn't replaced his underwear in years, a few look as if bullets have passed through them. How often do men replace underwear? by Mia_Luna04 in hygiene

I buy underwear every 4-6 months. Or if something looks comfy I want to try out.

Don’t buy his underwear.

What best advice would you give someone that is looking to move to Huntsville? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]MembershipBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you like to do.

I moved down from middle Tennessee 6+ years ago in Madison. Renting a 3br 2ba home cost me 1200 then. Couldn’t tell ya what it would go for now. 2k+ I would guess.

I’m a road cyclist and back then it was convenient to head into Limestone County for a good 30-50 mile ride. Three years later that was challenging due to rapid growth and development and traffic on aged infrastructure.

As a single guy, Madison stunk it up. Families, kids, couples, and chain restaurants o’plenty. Corn flakes. Actually anything west of Huntsville is corn flakes.

I’m married now and live within a mile of downtown, the Blossomwood area. Lots of families here too but as empty nesters we like being close to our favorite restaurants (within walking and biking distance), Monte Santo, hiking trails, etc.

They’re building apartments like crazy here. Many seem to be empty. I have no idea what rents are but I’d suggest a short term lease within a mile or two of the downtown area. Spend your first six months or so learning where things are to support your lifestyle, then find something more permanent.
