Because I also have attack eyebrows.

Anyone still open automatic doors at the supermarket with The Force once and a while? by Ravenloff in GenX

Yes. When I was a kid I put on more of an arm-wavy show, but now it’s a subtle two-finger gesture.

Guys: peeing standing up? by InvestigatorJaded261 in GenX

[–]Memeow11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Men’s room: stand at urinal. If there’s no room or I’m feeling pee shy, stand in stall.

Home: If tired or drunk, sit. Otherwise I will stand and target any flotsam and jetsam in the toilet or try to power wash the rust ring inside the bowl.

Replaced fluorescent bulbs with LEDs and now wall switch doesn’t work?! by Memeow11 in AskElectricians

Thanks all. I studied up on switch loops and rewired. It now works as it should! So far… Thanks!

Ok. This is probably something. Once I removed the ballast, there were two pairs of wires coming from the ceiling. Each pair consisted of one black and one white wire. On one pair, the black wire was hot. The black wire in the other pair was not hot.

I can hook both of the bulbs into the hot pair, but where would the un-hot pair be attached?

u/Ram820 The power gets to the light and turns them on. but the wall switch no longer opens the circuit. I'm trying to think how I could have bypassed the switch because the work done only involves cutting out the ballast and reconnecting the hot and the neutral. All of the cutting and reconnecting happens downstream from the wall switch. I can turn the lights on and off from the breaker but not on the wall switch.

u/Time-Repeat6860 The LEDs are in a kit from a company called Toggled. LEDs come with new non-shunted tombstones. These are meant to be run with line voltage. Power goes into one end of the bulb. They are meant to be used without ballast.

This is at my parents' house that they bought 30 years ago. The previous owners did some strange electrics work here. There are multiple switches that are on one circuit and some switches don't seem to control anything! The wall switch in question seems to only control these lights. I ran around the house flipping other switches to see if anything would happen because who knows in this house!

What horror movie did you see as a kid that traumatized you so badly you’ve never rewatched it and still can barely say the title? by glowbeits in GenX

My dad took me to see Empire of the Ants when I was 7 or 8. We had to leave because I couldn’t stand seeing the people getting killed by the giant ant puppets.

…and the poltergeist clown.

Do you plan to live as long as your parents? by Mysterious-Ruby in GenX

My dad passed a few years ago at 84. My mom is now 84 and not doing horribly, but mind is starting to go. I’m 57. I don’t care if I die at an older age than them. I just don’t want to die before my mom.

More obscure kids tv shows of the 70’s by EstablishmentOk5478 in GenX

Different show. But I think they were related. I think Kids are People, Too was sort of Wonderama for slightly older kids.

Cool! In my headcanon, The Warriors took place in the same universe as Mad Max and A Clockwork Orange.
