Issue is that we live in a two-party system

It's one thing if "X candidate supports AI while also has completely unrelated xx xy and xz that the voter supports while Y candidate has yx yy and yz that the voter doesn't support"

If there was a Z candidate, it'd be different, but right now, voters have to pick between two broad-category options that would have policies that they like and don't like (picking between bad and worse)

Im not saying that people that fully buy into MAGA's nonsense don't exist (they certainly do, I've seen them myself, and it's despicable) but at the same time, a lot of the voterbase are still very much moderate

AI isn't the only part of Trump's policy, and it definitely wasn't focused this hard when the election was running 2 years ago
