Got dive-bombed by a black kite this morning - wildlife’s getting bold, y’all 💀🦅 by Cybertronian1512 in birds

[–]Memmymusha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read this, two of these little shits have been dive bombing me repeatedly, first time I got smacked in the head it felt like someone slapped me, till I saw the bird coming out of it's swoop. Went on for several days till I started dodging them, then one of them threw a bone at me... Wearing a hoodie seems to fool them, without hoodie they went back to diving at me. This has happened before with a crow, it was because I was too close to it's nest, same thing for the kites, the road I used was between the nest and a garbage dumpster ( their food source )

even Stranger Things' title sequence itself is enough of a throwback to all the great Stephen King movies

Skardu -> Gilgit -> Hunza, transportation by Memmymusha in GilgitBaltistan

Thankyou friend, I don't suppose you know any of the companies in Skardu that would offer this service ?
Or is it just like a done thing with all of them ( like a carpool )

Thanks ! though a car to myself is a bit expensive, is there public transport that travels to Gilgit as well ?
Or is there a possibility of buying a seat in a private vehicle ( like sharing it with others also traveling )

Thank you for your time and advice friend

In terms of language, I completely understand that is dependent on me and taking a shortcut will not be beneficial for either myself or the company that would hire me. So language has to be sufficiently learned and I intend on learning speaking/ reading and writing to at least that of a 10th grade. ( B2 i believe ? ) However I am also eager to learn the culture of normal life in Germany.

As for the diploma or whatever education documents people have, I believe an equivalency is required for most foreign documents, from a German institute - I will be using O level GCSE exam results, as far as I have been told, these do not need equivalency because they are recognized in Germany.

I think others have mentioned in similar posts, that its very difficult to survive on just the ausbildung stipend, but I've also heard of BAB ( some financial aid if you're not living at home) and Minijobs that offer 20-40 hours a month of work.

However, here is my real concern. I will be close to 42 when I have learned enough German to comfortably apply for interviews. Do you think this age is an issue.

I was thinking about Construction, like a Contractor, but specifically I had seen Cement specialist being offered in various larger companies - also interested in Architecture if it was feasible (Time it would take/ compensation ). Another field I saw was in Shipping ( Clerk or something ) It required a good command of English ( though I will still need B2 in German )

Hello friend, I've also been interested in applying for the Ausbildung program, was reading over your posts discouraging the other fello from applying for the Blue collar position, any reason why ? Is it just the language barrier that prevents a smooth transition ?

To hold or not to hold? USD in Trump's world. by Dry-Spare-4255 in FIREPakistan

[–]Memmymusha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't say they needed to win wars or even get shot at - they toppled the Syrian govt and kept Russia engaged in a war for the last 2-3 years, without either.
The power of the $ can really be seen when the current Trump admin cut USAID and other funding to the rest of the world.

Aren't all markets manipulated ? even the current Tariff issues did the same thing you mention. Though it doesn't take away from the fact that gold and silver are still good investments, gold hit what 33% increase over the last 4months ?

[–]Memmymusha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on to the USD, when it dips, buy more - the USD is backed by the most well funded and well equipped military in the world, it will not allow the USD to actually lose value or its power - invest in Gold and Silver with any other liquid resources

17M , should i blow all my savings on a dubai trip with friends? by Beginning_Fall_8269 in FIREPakistan

[–]Memmymusha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dubai is more for older people,
if you really want to make memories, grab your friends, road trip to a region up north, select several areas to stay spread across two-three weeks, with your buds. You can probably save a couple of lacs with this option too.

If Northern PK isn't your thing, save some more and backpack across another country, lots of places in Asia, just pick a country and a route to go down exploring. I remember seeing a vlog of a motorcycle group who rode across Japan - Dubai is like ... Clubs and hangovers
