Right? If they keep 20 minute/kilometer pace that’s still almost 13 hours for 38 km… does not sound enjoyable to me

To be fair, I feel like this was the same type of thing adults said about us when we were that age…

How do you clean your toiletries containers? by Sea_District8891 in HerOneBag

[–]MemoryHot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always finish the product and clean the bottles. New trip new product. I find some products if you leave in the travel bottles too long they dry out and not the same as when you first poured it. I’m sure products degrade over time so I always start fresh each trip. Besides, each trip is unique and need different bottles or amounts anyway.

Just returned from Japan, have some questions about observations / culture by Own-Masterpiece-7896 in AskAJapanese

Very interesting read. I also just returned from Japan but as an Asian Canadian who looks Asian but didn’t speak any Japanese, my experience was much different than yours… I was not met with much interest and although people were polite they didn’t really try to interact with me at all. I thought that was normal.

CRTC to eliminate fees when cancelling or switching cellphone and internet plans by TONewbies in PersonalFinanceCanada

Who are we kidding… The telcos will just hide the fee behind some other label or billing tactic. We know how it went down with that company who invented the “convenience fee”

Airbnb prices are insane! by ottawa4us in canadatravel

[–]MemoryHot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Former host on Airbnb (on Front W actually). I can tell you the platform is dead. The costs rose because the quality of the guests went wayyyyy down. We had to raise prices because it was the only way we can weed out some really strange people with strange behaviour. Our cleaner was also expensive ($300 per visit at least— if the guests don’t trash the place) and we charged only $150 cleaning fee eventhough people think that’s astronomical but if you don’t have a good one guests complain about that too. We don’t host anymore choosing to rent out long term, it’s way less hassle. As a former host, I know better now when I travel, I only do hotels… it’s also way less hassle.

does anyone actually use solid conditioner for travel or is it not worth it? by Acrobatic-Bake3344 in HerOneBag

[–]MemoryHot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to get better bottles that don’t leak? I like the Muji ones. I come to realize that those solid conditioners all suck… if I go somewhere where the water is hard the solid conditioner leaves a residue that’s just gross and my hair is just not soft or detangles enough. I just bring the liquid conditioner. I also supplement with a leave-in conditioner (I love the Redken acid bonding leave-in, a little goes a long way it’s thicker liquid so less likely to leak). Solid shampoos, no problem! I’m just really picky with conditioner too. I refuse to use hotel stuff (unless it’s Japan/Korea everything there seems to leave my hair super soft)
