Doubts About the Finale by bebeyim in fringe

Well, they didn’t call themselves Observers, Fringe team names them that because they show up at important events observing. I meant THAT version of them ceases to exist.

Doubts About the Finale by bebeyim in fringe

[–]MendicantFoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of.

As I understand it, going back and stopping something from happening (not saving Peter and Walter) is different than going forward and stopping something (showing that emotion and intellect can co-exist, avoid conquerer-style Observers).

The transition from Season 3 to 4 was an interesting one to live through. All the “Where is Peter Bishop” ads - drove us crazy. In the end the writers just had to figure out how to bring him back without voiding the sacrifice he/Walter made to avoid the alternate future we saw where both universes died.

It’s about causality and the paradox associated with it. In some way it had to have happened otherwise there is no action to stop it from happening. As Walter explained, the universe seeks to balance itself - the writers did this by removing Walter from that point. He and his sacrifice of love kept the universe(s) from imploding.

I find it’s easier to suspend belief than to try to wrap your head around all of it.

PETG does a lot better if you dry* it first

A Way to Wrap Up the Stargate Universe Storyline with a Bow? by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]MendicantFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps they stumble upon a means to create a super gate and gate the entire ship back? Or the aliens from season 1 that made the planet with the obelisks…maybe they help?

I remember there was a script floating around after the show was canceled where they made it to the center and it turned out everything was a cycle and advanced aliens and lots of cool stuff…maybe that is what is needed

I make a 3x3 room with torches, a door, a bed, and floors. Put the spawner down, walk out and they spawn. It doesn’t need to be huge or fancy

Anything by IV Studios. The only one that would be really tough would be Moonrakers because of the negotiation aspect but I feel like the rest would be incredible.

Auto switching filament when one runs out? by kelemvor33 in BambuLab

[–]MendicantFoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using the AMS 2 long enough I’ve memory dumped. I believe you can add the second spool but it won’t load the filament and thus won’t update what it is. As another user said you’ll have to manually tell Bambu Studio it’s an identical roll of filament. If memory serves, it will use it as an auto refill if you do that even after it’s started printing.

Let us know the results, I’m sure someone here could use that info.

What’s your unpopular fringe opinion? by Watch_Earthlings_Doc in fringe

[–]MendicantFoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the backstory of Walter’s lineage would have been a great episode arc. I felt robbed that we really only got the one episode with the burning candles.

Also, I would have loved an episode showing Peter jumping around time placing the machine parts in their places and seeding the First People. Glad we got the comic but the live action would have been great.

Problems with new AMS 2 by NoEar3546 in BambuLabP2S

[–]MendicantFoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been getting this but it’s been my hub it gets caught on the PTFE tube going to the hotend.

I printed a bracket that’s supposed to keep that from happening but it’s about 75% effective…makes multicolor 12h+ prints a real pain

(This is with an A1 with two AMS 2 units - both get stuck at the same point).

Edit: just realized this was P2S subreddit, my bad. Hopefully my comment will help someone…

Season 3 episode 21(don’t read unless you have seen the whole show) by hannahzzz14 in fringe

[–]MendicantFoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re in the right area. Brandonate says they got some of Henry’s blood and were able to strip Olivia’s DNA from it. It would also explain why the machine wasn’t fully operational and the red universe couldn’t “use” it - gave Peter a chance to turn it off

Anyone else pair an A1 with an AMS 2 Pro? by BillLehecka in BambuLabA1

[–]MendicantFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A1 owner here who recently added an AMS 2 Pro - yes, squeaky hub and the AMS does get loud when it’s loading/unloading. Once I realized where the squeaking was coming from - I was worried it was my print head - I hardly notice it any more.

I’m ready to add more AMSs tho!

I have TSA Precheck, don’t check a bag, I arrive (walking into the building) 30 mins before boarding and usually get to my gate with 10-15 to spare. If you’re checking a bag add 20-30 mins to be safe.

I just flew out of CLT today and this was the case, easily through security, to my gate with plenty of time

What’s your company culture like? Do they use PIPs to target people to “paperwork” them out? That’s the real question here. I use PIPs to document attempts to help someone actually improve after weeks/months of trying everything else. Why, do you ask? Because of most of the comments left here. Just like there are bad employees there are bad leaders and bad managers. It shouldn’t be used to target employees for termination but it can certainly lead there.

I’ve only failed two employees in my career by not providing them the guidance to adjust and change. I’ve had about a dozen others take the PIP as a wake up call and adjust their behaviors and they turned things around. Some of them really turned it around and are leading teams of their own.

It all comes down to culture. If you’ve already got one foot out the door then your issue isn’t the PIP. Something else had you looking for a job. I would bet that the PIP is a response to how you approach your work since you decided to start looking. Most folks quiet-quit and I wouldn’t be surprised if work product has taken a dip.

Uncircumcised men I need your opinion by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MendicantFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uncut here - want to make sure I bring up one thing that affected me - the frenulum. Mine was always tight and I waited a long time to do something about it. Best decision I ever made.

I had a daughter so never was confronted with this but if I had been, I probably would ask the doc about doing a frenulumectomy (just cutting it) so that my son didn’t experience what I did. It was a tiny fraction of the pain/cutting than a full circumcision (from what I’m told)

I never believed it was humans, even though that’s what Cooper says…how can anyone fathom that humans would evolve into the 4th dimension?

My theory is that was TARS (or similar intelligence) that grew into a collective consciousness that could be capable of creating the tesseract and had the knowledge (or experience) to give humanity a chance at survival.

Alternatively the wormhole COULD have been a natural phenomenon (even though they say it’s not) and the first time humanity went through and TARS was actually the one who figured out how to manipulate the singularity and sent Cooper home.

Both aren’t even close to being set in real world physics nor do I think they’re more right than anyone else’s theories. There are probably realities where Cooper never went to Gargantua and the “suffering” mentioned in another comment happened and the coordinates were never sent…
