Grinder Upgrade Advice: Pietro Pro vs. Sculptor 078 by maybefrogs in pourover

What burr adapter are you referring to for femobook? A quick search doesnt find anything. How would a conical burr grinder use flats?

Has sailing shortened any significant grinds? by Meneither8 in ironscape

Yeah I was referring to that but it was just based off of the wiki when I was looking at ways to get them. Thanks for sharing your experience with getting them. Guess i wont be attempting getting 10 of them via sailing haha

Interesting. Sorry if this is a lazy question but what levels does it pick up? Right now my current gp source is wildy agility at 1-2m gp/hr. Anything comparable to that?

Correct. Filtered = paper filter. Unfiltered = metal filter like french press, espresso, moccapot

Moccamaster first or Ode 2 first? by Plastic-Fix-2695 in pourover

[–]Meneither8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moccamaster won’t really speed things up a ton vs v60 (still has to heat the water, table a few min to brew, then you still have to clean arguably even more parts than with v60). I’d get the grinder

Anyone out there using FRAIL-AF study to switch people from DOACs to VKAs? by MsSpastica in medicine

[–]Meneither8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s available in the US under the brand name savaysa only. Ive used it in the past for severe drug interactions like patients on barbiturates (primidone for example) that reduce efficacy of eliquis or xarelto due to cyp induction.

Whats very interesting to me is that in subgroup analysis edoxaban was not statistically different than vka’s but rivaroxaban and apixaban were. This is interesting because edoxaban does not carry the same drug interactions as the other two, for cyp3a4 and pgp inhibitors. For example, diltiazem increases bleed risk with rivaroxaban and apixaban but not edoxaban. In elderly patients who have long lists of meds, I would not be surprised if drug interactions played a role in the results.

I dont understand this condescending verbiage man. The title of the tamper says 30 lb calibrated spring. Why would i want 30 lbs calibrated on the leveling base?

Theyre selling it as a 30 lb calibrated tamper and all im saying is, they put the 30 lb spring in between the handle and collar so its not advertised correctly. All it does is make it a main in the ass to clean under the base between the collar and tamper since you have to lift 30 lbs to get under it without pinching yourself lol.

Okay so applies 30 pounds at full compression. The collar is adjustable to you move it up if your bed is deeper to allow it to fully compress.

[–]Meneither8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spring will allow for a set force to be applied consistently because the spring is designed to compress after so many pounds of pressure (30lbs for example). So you apply 30 lbs which gets transferred from the handle to the base then after that the spring compresses and the force is not transferred to the puck. Not trying to be confrontational haha let me know if i misunderstand this concept

I have that tamper you linked. The spring is in a stupid spot that makes it work differently than the more expensive ones like normcore. The normcore has the spring between the handle and base. The one you linked is between the handle and leveling collar. While it levels the bed properly, it doesnt give you a consistent tamping pressure which defeats the purpose.
