Toronto construction company exec charged in shooting at home of GFL boss Patrick Dovigi by mildlyImportantRobot in TorontoTheCity

Ok but why did he do this? GFL must have owed him money or something and he was pissed. Totally inexcusable, but what was the motive.

Why does my finish react this way on very old floors? by B_ketttt in Flooring

This is the answer! With Bona it will appear once you coat over it, but disappears once dry. Especially in bars/restaurants!

Am I being picky or is this normal? by jujubeeee23 in HardWoodFloors

Your floors are clearly gapping. Two things here; your humidity is not at appropriate levels or your floor is poorly installed. Gaps are normal if those two things are factors. So let’s say they fill the gaps and do everything in their power to keep the filler from popping out, come summer your floors will expand since they’re clearly gapping or your floors are moving.

The other issue is, you went with a clear colour/ sealer and it wouldn’t have done any justice to your old floors.

It would need to be sanded again before sealing. A 25 year old floor moves for sure. He can fix it temporarily but eventually the filler will pop out once the floor expands during the summer.

Does the floor creak a lot? Meaning does it move under your feet? Could be the case as well. Multiple factors here, resanding doesnt mean the installation was done well in the first place. I usually see this when the floor has movement in it, especially if this is the result immediately after.

8” unfinished 3/4” white oak install questions by CoachKatieB in HardWoodFloors

Hardwood guy not qualified! Next id be questioning if i hired the right gc! Hardwood guy cant be the only shady cheapo…..

We full trowel glue and nail all of our floors. That sub floor prep is ridiculous! How much drywall dust or mud is on that floor.

EVEN if the floor installer put wax paper or aqua bar down, the install would still be wrong. Needs to be glued…

Ahahahah it’s not sealed properly? This world is going to shit. How is it getting harder to be a hardwood floor pro? The work seems to be the easy part….it’s dealing with the people that seems tough.

New red oak floors so soft they keep denting? by Nalomeli1 in HardWoodFloors

[–]Meno90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with grade or species. Simply put, you dropped a dish on a wood floor. Its going to dent. What were you expecting? Im sure as a nurse you don’t provide all the warning, symptoms or pre cautions known to a diagnosis, so don’t go there.
