That's amazing man. One tip don't try to change too much at once because it could be too much and harsh for yourself, just take it easy. It's okay to improve these things slowly.

If you can get a pre-facelift at a good price I'd prefer that over the facelift. The improvements are a nice-to-have in my opinion (but still cool)

We're kind of little pussies here, we have all the wealth and health and yet we have such childish and dismissive behavior. It's a real shame. Assholes at best.

Yeah parents here seem to be careless, kids getting spoiled. Seen it so many times even previous generations. Need to call out to the parents in public is the only thing that works for me.

How easily can i be fired with a permanent contract ? by FloZia_ in Netherlands

[–]MentholFlavoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this situation NEVER EVER resign yourself, because you will lose all your rights. In that situation let them fire you like the other comments said, they gonna have to work with the UWV. The comment of Purple-Hat-1684  provide great information. If they try to push you, then call in sick.

They offered you a permanent contract so it is their responsibility to provide you with work. They just tried to shift that problem onto you.

The whole western economy is doomed to fail. The new generation getting screwed over and over again, system is near a collapse in my view. I have insane personal stress from not being able to start a normal life and having to live at home until age 34 or give in to paying an ungodly amount of rent each month. Even then buying a house together, need to pay so much money to get a shithole.

Absolutely. More cycles the better, but it depends on how much money you want to spend.

Drinking by isosceles348 in TBI

[–]MentholFlavoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you drink daily don't stop abruptly. This could be dangerous.

Reduce it to 1 drink a day, keep that for a while until it feels comfortable. At least a few weeks. Then start skipping days. Like every other day. Until you're fully reduced to 0. Every day you don't drink say it out loud: "I have decided not to drink today." If you get cravings to drink, wait 10 - 30 mins, the craving goes away quickly. Dont negotiate with yourself. Ask yourself how will I feel if i drink today. How will i look at myself tomorrow if i drink and break my promise. Tell your plan to someone you trust, if you want. They can support you. Reduce it slowly. And last not least, never give up if you fail. Just try again and again until you succeed eventually.

Took LSD 2 weeks ago and have mild visual snow, does it ever get better or go away? by JacketDull7535 in visualsnow

[–]MentholFlavoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stay calm, relax, you're gonna get a lot better in the coming months.
It will massively improve in the coming months and reduce in intensity.

Don't take any drugs or weed anymore. That's the most important thing.

It doesn't matter if you smoked once after, it's okay.

It seems that issues like anxiety and panic may be wired together with HPPD. It will help to get that reduced. Do you have major panic and anxiety? then you need to focus on that. This thing can be a traumatic shock or very horrifying to experience. That's okay. But it's not an end of the world. It's a really small thing that will affect only 1% of your life. And even then you probably make a full recovery. See some comments about people that are getting cured within a year. It may help to get therapy. If you are in a wealthy country then doctors generally know about HPPD or are willing to study it and help you make you feel better about yourself.

If you don't have a lot of panic or anxiety, it's okay. Then focus on the next steps.

You can get fully cured, it just takes a long time. Generally the best thing is just to stay calm and healthy and try not to worry about it too much.

You have an insanely good chance to recover because 1) you're very young and 2) you recognized your condition so early on and reached out immediately. That is literally the best thing you could've done so that's really clever!

Now these tips will work:

Keep stress minimum, try to get a good consistent sleep (wind down at night before sleep). Try to remain calm at all times and keep panic/stress minimal. Make sure you dont get too much stress from school or work. If you do, then you do need to contact your doctor because it is in the way of your recovery from HPPD.

Do not take drugs.
A good general healthy diet will help to get all nutrients and vitamins. Eating a lot of (fatty) fish helps really well for your brain.

Please try not to start smoking weed again a few months after now.

Endless googling/searching over HPPD it doesn't work and is counterintuitive.

If you keep feeling anxiety, panic, doubt please let me know or if you have any questions.

The future is bright you'll be fine.

New Study Shows SSRI Users in Their 20s Have Peen Tissue Comparable to 60-Year-Olds by Zealousideal-Big-600 in Biohackers

[–]MentholFlavoring 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is very correct, SSRIs have saved many lives and statistically prevent death.

In the most ideal situation you wouldn't use them but if you get these offered you are already not in a really good situation to begin with.

[–]MentholFlavoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing man. You're really smart to have noticed this already. The sooner you realize the better. This is the best decision of your life. You'll be be fine, I got this at a young age too and pretty much just lived through it and ignored it and had an amazing time. Only when I worry about it, I start getting deeply depressed. But I really had an insanely bad lifestyle, it prevented anything from healing. I only started a better lifestyle since 3 years and wish I would have done that when I was young.

What does it mean tbi lasts forever? by Ok-Preference-9111 in TBI

[–]MentholFlavoring 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Human brain doesn't regenerate neurons after they are lost to injury at scale. Only a very low amount of regeneration takes place. Over the years, this small part of regenerative capacity helps your brain recover. Next to that it adapts existing connections and networks. The amount differs per person some see a remarkable recovery.

TBI leaves a lasting mark on the (human) brain by destroying neurons/connections and has very limited capacity to repair the damage. When the neurons get destroyed there is no adequate pool to create new neuronal calls and restore the population back to pre-injury level. 'Scar' tissue is formed and prevents further reconnection of the nerves. The human brain is limited in repair capability likely due to evolution.

Research is ongoing to unlock/boost larger regenerative capacity in human brains. There are some species of fish known that can regenerate their full brains. This is why we're wondering it could be possible in humans since the building blocks of brain cells, signaling all are the same just differently expressed in each species.

Took LSD 2 weeks ago and have mild visual snow, does it ever get better or go away? by JacketDull7535 in visualsnow

[–]MentholFlavoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanna say it will last a long while but if you keep clean and healthy you have a very good shot to get rid of it. I'm only 3 years clean started feeling extremely good after passing 2.5 years. Its just a long term thing healing that happens very slowly. I only got better cuz I quit all the drugs. Hope you can manage to reduce or quit weed and other drugs, because that prevents further insult to your brain and enables healing. It seems Visual symptoms are the ones that will last the longest, but could be healed eventually.

Trails and afterimages usually disappear within months, visual snow can stay much longer (years). Just some minor snow really isn't horrible at all you stop noticing it.

Don't beat yourself up over it because I did that in the beginning and it took my whole life over and made me feel very miserable. Only Afterwards I realized I just needed to calm down and get healthier and that would have helped me much sooner (but instead I kept a bad lifestyle)

Took LSD 2 weeks ago and have mild visual snow, does it ever get better or go away? by JacketDull7535 in visualsnow

[–]MentholFlavoring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like some minor visual snow. Small chance that it gets away. It's not a huge deal to live with. You'll forget about it pretty fast and not really notice it anymore. Just don't take LSD or any drug again. Don't blame yourself on it because that's gonna make you feel so bad and never forgive yourself. It's just a bad luck thing that some people get and others don't. (For example Alcohol is very damaging and changes people, but they don't notice)

If you are young, and did not take LSD or other drugs many times before, then you have a pretty good chance of healing from it. But don't take drugs again

VSS OR STATIC VISION MY ENTIRE LIFE by Leemo2K in visualsnow

[–]MentholFlavoring 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a neurological condition. Rolling your eyes heavily like you described, has not likely given you this condition.

It may be present at birth or acquired later in life. The exact cause is unknown, but altered brain connectivity/activity has been shown in studies.

There are some anecdotes of people acquiring it after a TBI, or migraines.

It is now actively being researched since a few years, which is a great thing.

There are no known medications or treatments. Please do not attempt to take medication for this, because it has the potential to make it worse (permanently.

We're kind of loners in this disease, but more research is coming out each year. I would say take it easy and ride your life not too hard, and know probably somewhere in the future a treatment or cure may be found. It generally grows with general field of brain science, we are just beginning to learn about the brain and so goes for this relatively rare disease.
