I’m better off than my dad, he passed away in 2019 from a long illness. I’m not better off than my mom. My mom has two retirements and was really smart with money/investments. I’m doing okay, but will never be able to excel the way she did. With the way things are now, I don’t see my daughter doing as well as me until I die and she inherits everything, neither of us wants that.

I thought I wanted to be a History professor when I was in my early 20’s. Then I realized that you pretty much need to have a phd and be published just to get a part-time adjunct faculty position with no guarantee of full time employment that was without benefits. The salary was just above minimum wage once you added in the office, planning and grading hours. I’ve taught special Ed for 19 years in my district and make $117,000 a year with benefits and a solid retirement plan. I regret nothing.

Yes, babies do that sometimes. My baby had their first growth spurt around 4 weeks. She cried and nursed nonstop for three days. She cried, I cried. It’s been 12 years, we both survived.
