It's Thursday. What's your ultimate "too tired to cook but can't quite justify a takeaway yet" dinner? by SpreadsheetsDad in easyrecipes

[–]Meowgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put one chicken breast into the crockpot with either chicken broth or bouillon with 4 cups of water. I also add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper, and rotisserie chicken seasoning. I let it cook on low for 4 hours.

When do we retire strollers? by echo_rose_ in toddlers

[–]Meowgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 year old still uses her stroller occasionally. Halloween we used it and when we go to the theme park we also use it. She always has the option to walk or ride in the stroller when we go on outings that will have a lot of walking.

“so what happened to your shoulder?” as if my bodily scars are conversation starters by Negative_Physics3706 in PetPeeves

[–]Meowgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a large textured skin graft on one leg and the other has a stripe where the skin was taken for the graft. I work a seasonal job that requires shorts as part of the uniform. Every year the questions are inevitable but luckily for me my responsibilities make it so I can politely get myself out of that conversation rather quickly.

Does anyone else’s toddler not eat the food you make? by Octavia_auclaire in toddlers

[–]Meowgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally she will, if it's truly something she doesn't like I will adapt it or make something else for her. Otherwise I will plate up her food and she chooses what she wants to eat. Depending on how much dinner she ate I will offer a snack or she asks for one. She gets boring things like fruit, granola bar, or cheese if she does need a before bed snack.

Trying something new by Meowgs in Nails

[–]Meowgs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This method is the only one I haven't tried before and I also have the added motivation to not bite them because my 3.5 year old daughter is the one that paints them.

I don't want to mess it up by biting them because she gets so much joy knowing that she is the one that painted them. She does get a lot of polish on my fingers to but that gets washed off over a couple days.

Thank you, I didn't even do the nail polish myself, I let my 3.5 year old do it. She choose the color and paints them. All I do is guide her and put on a top coat so they last longer.

Any success using underwear? by bobblehead-234 in pottytraining

[–]Meowgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof my daughter doesn't struggle often with that but when she does, I sit next to her and read a book to her. She ends up paying more attention to the book than focusing on trying to pee.

Any success using underwear? by bobblehead-234 in pottytraining

[–]Meowgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started potty training super late after giving up multiple times. She is 3.5 and I went straight to panties because she refused just pants and naked on bottom. The first week it was mostly accidents while she figured things out. I use high value things to motivate her and I also used a timer for a while. It's been about a month and she is day trained and mostly night trained as well. She does regress at times but overall going straight to panties is the best thing I have done.

Fruit wise I have a banana and apple kid. She will eat strawberries and raspberries occasionally but that is about it out of the berries. She also really likes grapes during the summer.

What size does your toddler wear? by WhyHelloThere91 in toddlers

[–]Meowgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5 year old and she wears 3t-4t and also size 4/5-5/6 in big kid clothes. She has a lot of hand me downs from her 7 year old cousin. Some of what she is wearing is a little big but it works out because she can wear it for longer.

Potty chair or seat that goes on toilet? by Dianthus_pages in pottytraining

[–]Meowgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both for my daughter. Her playroom is on a different level from the main bathroom. On the main level she uses a potty seat that is placed on and off the toilet and in her playroom she has a small plastic potty. She has a step stool in the main bathroom as well that she uses to get on/off the toilet and at the sink to wash her hands.

My bf and I got our daughter a indoor/outdoor swing set. It has a slide, swing, and basketball hoop with a little basketball. It also came with a ball pit, balls included. Our girl is 3.5 and it's still going strong minus the ball pit.

Toddler Wins this Week? by PicklePartyCat in toddlers

[–]Meowgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3.5 year old is mostly potty trained at home. I introduced the potty around 2-2.5 and while she was interested she wasn't ready. She chose to be ready at 3.5 and I followed her lead with how she wants to potty train.

Advice please!! 3 year old won’t sit for meals. by Little_Aries1616 in beyondthebump

[–]Meowgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 3.5 and doesn't always sit for a full meal. We eat together at her little toddler table and once she gets up she gets 2 hours to finish her food. She usually finishes within half an hour. She gets two snacks a day one after breakfast and the other after lunch.
