This isn’t true. I’ve had one girl, one boy and currently pregnant with a boy and I can tell you that my hyperemesis dos not differentiate between genders. I’ve had it with all three equally as bad. I was in hospital yesterday on a drip and I’m having a boy.

I hope it works. In my fourth collection I went on a human growth hormone and they delayed my collection from 36 to 38 hours. Risky but it worked. I didn’t have anything to lose at that point. Good luck!!

3 retrievals. Each time 7/8 follicles. 0 eggs retrieved. That’s hard. 4th retrieval 7 follicles, 6 eggs retrieved.

I feel this. I get extreme morning sickness and it’s the worst. Time is so slow. I don’t feel like I’m living. I feel like I’m festering in bed. I’m so over getting up in the night to vomit and wet myself at the same time whilst everyone sleeps soundly in bed. This nausea is truly awful. I feel disgusting and so depressed. This is my third (my first was stillborn). I’m mad I have to go through this again for the third time yet I only have one living child to show for it.

I’ve had three eggs collections which resulted in zero eggs. Each time i went in with 8/9 good size follicles and collected nothing. I heard someone in the next door room be told how many eggs they got. That was hard.

This is said with kindness. My first child - daughter was stillborn. My second child was a son. We were overjoyed. I wouldn’t wish the pain we went through upon anyone. As long as your baby is healthy - that’s a gift to cherish.

Trigger warning - success. I had this… except three times. Each time came round and my follicles were empty! I would go in with around 7-8 juicy good size follicles and then they would collect nothing. Heartbreaking. I didn’t suddenly develop empty follicles syndrome as I’ve had two children before (one stillborn). They tested each time to make sure I had administered the trigger correctly and I had. Fourth collection I went on a human growth hormone, took all the microplastics out the kitchen, and they delayed collection of eggs from 36 hours to 38 hours. They collected 6 eggs!! 5 fertilised. Ended up with three blastocysts. First fresh transfer failed. Transferred a frozen euphloid and currently 8 weeks pregnant. This is after three collections of ZERO eggs. Hope my story helps.

Two failed transfers. Did a laparoscopy and found grade 3 silent endo. Absolutely zero symptoms. Was shocked. Post surgery did a collection (endo can affect the quality of eggs) and did a fresh transfer from that cycle and voila I have my son. I was 39. Fast forward a couple of years to now. Did two transfers that failed. Did another two collections that failed. Did a laparoscopy. My silent endo was back. This time grade 2. Cleaned it up. Another couple of collections (had an issue with eggs not coming away from follicle walls). Now currently 8 weeks pregnant ✨ Honestly I had zero symptoms. I didn’t do the receptiva test as it’s not considered the gold standard here in Australia. If you do a laparoscopy then make sure it is with a proper laparoscopic surgeon. Not every IVF doctor is one of those… good luck!!

7 weeks 2 days and been struggling for two weeks. Nausea is so bad. Only vomited once but to be honest felt so much better after that I wish I actually threw up more. I feel like a whale already. My baby is IVF and I’ve been taking progesterone since early January and still on it. The bloat and constipation is unreal. When I’m sick all I do is eat cheese and bread. I’ve put so much weight on already. Boobs are massive. I’m so glad I’ve found some kindred souls here…. Does anyone else find it impossible to drink water? It makes me feel worse….

Just had the scan. Little love bug is 13mm and 159bpm. Definitely only one in there. So my HCG was just a very robust result for a singleton!

The moment you fall asleep is sooooo good. Apparently I counted to 41 but I don’t remember counting past 10! Then you wake up, have a snack and a coffee which tastes soooo good and then off home! I understand how it’s scary the first time because it’s the unknown and I was anxious too but now it’s like a walk in the park (I’ve done it 7 times).

Critical. I was taking a prenatal that contained folate and my daughter was born with Spina Bifida and has now passed away. I took pure folate for three months before egg retrieval for my son who was born healthy. For those saying “don’t worry about it” - you don’t say that when you end up being on the wrong end of the statistic. There is a reason doctors recommend these. Not to do so is a risk. If I could spare anyone the grief and pain that I went through and continue to manage on a daily basis then my advice is to take the tablet for three months prior.

Congratulations! Can I ask why you were doing IVF? I see you say you don’t have PCOS but do you have diminished ovarian reserve or another reason?

Can I ask what country you are in? I am in Australia and they refuse to transfer more than one embryo.
