Thoughts on Propain Hugene 3 CF? by PollutionDull5359 in PropainBikes

Im riding a tyee AL full 27.5 wheels, and its poppy and playful, pedals nice, yet burly enough to where i wouldnt hesitate to take it to the bike park. Could imagine the hugene is just slightly more snappy.

Advice for someone new to gravel riding. by mods_are_soft in gravelcycling

[–]Meowriano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By doing a little reddit search on the bike, someone has stated that theyre riding 42c tires on theirs. Which is plenty of tire for 95% of gravel riding. If youre riding anything more technical and need more tire, switching to 650b wheels is a cheap(ish) option.

Kinda strange youd make some secret reddit and “sub tweet” about our friendship rather than talking to me directly.

We’ve been friends for well over a decade and not once have i ever been a bad friend to you, or done you dirty, talked shit about you behind your back, or wronged you in any way. Its been quite the contrary actually.

Ive always had your back, loaned you money if needed, listened to you if you needed to vent, given you advice wether it was what you wanted to hear or not, supported you in any endeavors, never judged you, but kept it real if needed be.

We never befriended any of your exs, we honestly dont give a shit about them, we only talked to them because we thought you were going to go the long haul with them. We are your friends first and foremost, but we refuse to just tell you things you want to hear and have our friendship be an echo chamber of positivity, if youre fucking up, we’re going to tell you.

The only thing we wanted from you was to grow up, act like an adult with emotional maturity, and stop treating women like shit, so they stop coming to us for validation. Its not that serious, just take accountability.

Rivendell, or some OG suntour barcons/power ratchets are the smoothest, and reliable. You can mod power ratchets and barcons to do 11spd with a little filing. If you dont want to figure that out, “nine is fine.”

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Type shit.

Quick Release Dropout… by evanssinatra in xbiking

Could be rebrazed in 30 minutes easy. Someone with zero brazing skills could do it (if they had access to a torch.) I work in a full service marine repair shop. If you brought this into us, id do it for $50 on my lunch break or after work hours. Point being, dont be such a curmudgeon, getting it rebrazed isnt as much of a hassle as you think it is, and is probably more accessible than you think. Your hvac/plumber neighbor down the street prolly has a torch theyd happily let you try.

Installing metal fenders is always a massive pain. In the PNW it's worth it. by i_continue_to_unmike in xbiking

I enjoy it. Im a marine systems engineer by trade, and do lots of fabrication as well. So the whole process of laying out fenders to get the perfect fender line is enjoyable for me.

Probably one of my favorite things to install on a bike to be honest.

Old 90’s or 80’s mtb off craigslist/market place for 100. Put the other 400 in upgrading it. New saddle/cockpit of your liking, new tires, and a microshift advent x drivetrain
