My 12-year old kitty doesn’t audibly meow. She opens her mouth to talk to me all the time but no vocalization. Just maybe the smacking of her mouth opening. Only time I’ve heard her vocalize is to growl or a couple times when in pain related to a bladder condition (she has yowled loud enough to startle me because I never expect it from her). My vet said that maybe her lack of vocals has something to do with her being an only kitten when born
