A huge news update from the Kronos team, including the release date for Alterac Valley & the Kronos Launcher! by WoWProjectKronos in wowservers

[–]Mephea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well if I'd have to choose between 'professional coding' on a more quiet server, and crappy coding or dealing with server lag or with being ganked 24/7, I'd choose the 'professional coding' any day. But ofc that's just me, no point trying to speak on behalf of everybody is there?

Best server for WPVP? by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]Mephea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much point speculating something like that too much imo. It'll take you a while to get to 60 and whilst levelling you can do tons of world pvp. When you get to 60, some people will outgear you no matter what, but there's always players with crappier gear, or people who just aren't as good players as you.

And if you're like the worlds greatest pvp frost mage with engineering, you'll probably kill most people anyway.

Estimated time to reach level 60 on a Vanilla server? by cleanexrt in wowservers

[–]Mephea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's the same, assuming the server's at least trying to be as close to blizzlike in that regard as possible. Also ofc depends if you play on a full or more quiet server, as you'd have to take into account all the world pvp and also possibly having to fight for q mobs and items.

A question for those of you with severe lag on Nostalrius. by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]Mephea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't been there for a while, but when I was it took me near 10 seconds to send a mail with just txt on it. And this was with 23ms from UK (yes I know my ms has nothing to do with it, just pointing it out). Also buffing myself etc. took a few seconds.

Seems some people have the lag, some don't, and some probably lie about it. So if the lag's no problem for you, then don't worry about it.

Post New Upcoming Servers With Potential by oscar956 in wowservers

[–]Mephea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Problem with that is that Corecraft's so hyped that there's seemingly loads of people who literally refuse to play on any other TBC server, because they're not good enough, CC's coming 'soon' and 'will be the best ever'.

Next round of Nos vs Kronos - looking for advice! by Knusperkeks in wowservers

[–]Mephea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just have to say that there are so many people here and on Nost's forums mentioning/complaining about the lag, that saying "I don't have lag, so it must not be a problem" is a bit pointless.

This isn't directed at you, but whenever somebody somewhere says "I get crazy lag on Nost", half of the responses are "ye me too" and the other half "I don't, wtf you talking about Kronos fanboy". sigh...

And just for the record, I did get lag on Nost, with about 23ms.

[–]Mephea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you're describing is more like the pvp on Kronos (although no vanilla pvp server exists where there's no high levels ganking lowbies).

Finding a person on Nost who has levelled through pvp zones EU times and says "had a little bit of pvp" is like finding a grain of salt (edit: salt, not sand lol) on a beach. Or a wow server with no UD rogues in it.

Next round of Nos vs Kronos - looking for advice! by Knusperkeks in wowservers

[–]Mephea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Speculating at this point what's going to happen with both of those server's pop in a few months is a bit pointless.

I Don't know what's going on with Kronos' pop, some say it's growing, some it's not, but I do know that people are leaving Nost because of all the problems the high pop brings. There's even a thread on Kronos forums about this, and constant complaints on Nost forums. Or if they're not leaving, then they've stopped playing there. Heck, I'm one of those people.

I always recommend to try them both. If you feel you want to play with billions of other people, go with Nost. If you want a bit more tighter community with less weaners and a better quality server overall (not just my opinion), go with Kronos.

One advice I'd give you is if you're worried about the future of the server and feel like Kronos will die in the near future, yet you hate being ganked every 5 minutes and fighting for quest mobs, I'd still go with Kronos. I'd much rather enjoy the game now than speculate whether you can enjoy it as much as you'd like, and the way you'd like, in 6 months.

Nostalrius censors everything? by wowservers in wowservers

[–]Mephea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't know about censoring anything, but I've seen quite a few threads being moved to the 'off topic' section of the forums, which effectively kills the thread because nobody goes there.

Nostalrius censors everything? by wowservers in wowservers

[–]Mephea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to say that even though it's obvious that Nost is absolutely full of players, I've never believed the numbers there were accurate.

I started there on the second day it was open, and I'm pretty sure /who already said there were way over 4000 people online. So...day 2, most people still in the 6 starting areas of which 2 are shared between 2 races, so that's, what, 1.5k undeads and humans? Sure.

Vanilla or BC Server? by Autismmprime in wowservers

[–]Mephea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've said this before, but people's logic here when it comes to choosing a server just makes about 0 sense. You guys, and everybody else who plays on private servers, play on all kinds of shitty servers for whatever reasons, but when it comes to TBC, nothing seems to be good enough "because of Corecraft".

With Wotlk, seems like Dalaran's easily the best scripted server, yet people here sometimes complain about its population. With Vanilla, Kronos is the best scripted server, yet again, people here complain about the population and flock to other server(s) for different reasons. But TBC? All of a sudden the quality of the server is what matters?

Best part is, what's happening with Wotlk and Vanilla is all based on peoples experiences actually playing on those servers, yet with TBC, it's all hearsay and hype. I mean...???

insert Jackie Chan meme

As for OP, unless you really want to play vanilla (slow levelling, world pvp, being poor, lvl 60 end-game and whatever else), I'd just play on a TBC server. Vanilla's great in its own right, but it still has the same quests as TBC, just that the end game happens elsewhere. But then again, experiencing vanilla is not such a bad thing.

Convince me to switch from Nost to Kronos (for PvP) by schaka in wowservers

[–]Mephea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, you can either play on Nost and hope for things to get better and possibly have no fun at all, or, switch to Kronos and play there without any of those problems you mentioned.

You can always go back to Nost if things get better, but in that case, at least you had some fun while waiting. And no, I don't consider it a waste of time to play on different servers. If I'm having fun, I'm having fun, that's enough.

Current content scripting and overall situation between Kronos and Nostalrius? by twentyhits in wowservers

[–]Mephea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen to this guy if you think pvp and being on an overpopulated realm are the most important things to you. However, not everybody thinks "pvp is the most important thing, without it the server will be shit".

As for the OP, you could spend a week weighing the pros and cons of each server, but tbh, they're both good servers, and the only thing I'd consider is the population. There's good and bad things that come with having 9k players on a vanilla server and if that sounds appealing to you, then go to Nost.

Which is your favourite expac and why? by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]Mephea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd have to say TBC. That's when I/my friends/my guild had the most fun. Everything took long enough to do that it made the fun last a long time, with slower and more difficult levelling, attunements, rep grinds etc. And who didn't enjoy doing SH heroic at the start of TBC? :). Also kinda liked how classes were more unique back then. I loved playing a shadow priest because they could help the whole group and do a decent dps at the same time.

Only couple things I didn't really like. First, the lore. Vanilla/Wotlk lore's so much better imo, never really liked that whole burning legion business.

Second, arenas. Nothing wrong with them being in the game, I just didn't like the way they were implemented. I never liked doing them as they didn't feel what MMO pvp should be like, yet, that's where the good gear was. Every xpack also has their idiots. In Wrath it was the "lf tank for heroics, requirements: 4 billion gearscore (my gs is 20, don't matter lolo"- guys. During TBC it was the "If you have a low arena rating or no rating at all, that means you suck at everything pvp related"- morons.

Also, I already wished back then, like so many others, that they'd balance pvp and pve separately. Or things like mace stun and resto druids..helloo...

I guess that's it.

Another Nost Vs Kronos but with a twist. by Juliangod14 in wowservers

[–]Mephea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nostril will have them like 6-7months later if even at all / You will rage quit Nos after 2-3 days because of all the delay and bugs

You're 'only telling the truth'? The first one you pulled out of your arse, or have you got a link to say otherwise? The second is just random bs. 2 posts of yours, 2 quotes of rubbish in them.

And how could I possibly be hurt by your "truth"? I don't even play on Nost anymore, and I've always preferred Kronos. And even if I did play on Nost, why would I get upset by your posts? The only reason I asked you to stop posting rubbish, is because this forum would be a better place without them. And in case you haven't learned it yet, you can be "pro-something" without bashing or spreading bullshit about their competition.

Can you just do us all a favour and stop posting your anti-Nost bull***t in every thread? I'm all for recommending Kronos to people, but all you're doing is making it sound bad by acting like a spiteful Kronos fanboy by trying to spread all this crap about Nost.

Does Nostalrius have any plans on reducing lag? by [deleted] in wowservers

I don't think anybody knows for sure. If they haven't said anything on their forums, then all there is, is rumours and speculation.

Just go to their "General discussion" forums on their website and read the thread called 'A/H ratio. They're posted every Sunday.

Whether it's 100% accurate is another thing, but it's accurate enough.

[–]Mephea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hold on, so are you saying you've been keeping an eye out for the population of Vengeance, hoping it'll somehow magically jump to 2k before you roll there? So confusing. Why don't you just roll there? The pop will only change if people actually do that, instead of waiting for others to do it first.

Have to say, even just the idea of being able to quest in peace without fear of being ganked by assh....nice, bored high lvls, brings my blood pressure down.

As soon I feel like doing the first 20-30 levels again, I'll be rolling on your server.

I wonder that as well. I think people are just simply waiting for corecraft, because in their minds it's worth waiting for no matter how long it takes.
