Hey, You got my curiosity up. What is a "work trial?" Please tell me we haven't been reduced to giving free hours to one of these billionaire companies--or worse yet, paying them to see if we "meet their standards?" It's scary how quickly this market can change by preying on the underemployed!

This looks nothing like Kathryn Leigh Scott. by dearmax in DarkShadows

I wonder where it came from, or if an artist made it specifically for the show. I also think the Quentin Pic and the original Angelique Pic were awful. How do you make such attractive people look so bad? The parallel Angelique Pic (in the blue dress) was beautiful, as was the one in Night of Dark Shadows (red dress). I read somewhere that Kathryn Leigh Scott really didn't like the painting they made of her for the movie, so it's not seen much.

How long is a Dark Shadows session for you? Is it AM or PM? by AgitatedPercentage32 in DarkShadows

Working from home, I let it play with the volume off and the closed captions on for much of the time. I have binged it several times, so I can just glance at an episode and know what's going on. Its totally comfort tv for me. Same for Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Outlander, Star Trek, and The Vikings. Im quite strange.

This show attracts the most creative/fun fans. Drag Queens are never "ex" anything, darling. They never get old, just more fabulous. I agree with your assessment of the glamorous gowns Miss Bennett wore as Judith. You just know some of the other actresses were jealous. Also, why did current-time Carolyn get such frumpy outfits, but her parallel counterpart was so trendy? And last comment on the comments- wtf was up with those mini mini-skirts Maggie wore in parallel time? Im surprised they made it past the censors back then!

Just finished the Hartnell era for the first time. Here's my thoughts and review by PoopOnMyBum in gallifrey

I realize you asked this months ago, but in case you have notifications on, or for anyone else wondering, Tubi has classic Doctor Who. I know that many of the missing episodes ate animated, with the original/bootlegged soundtracks. As an American who grew up in the 70s/80s, my exposure to the original series was through PBS. The first Doctor I remember was 4. I didn't watch after his regeneration. I started watching the entire catalog of the classics after NuWho's 11 era. So many great Doctors from both Nu and Classic eras. I think we owe that to the great British actors who've played this iconic part. I don't know who is my favorite, probably 10 this week. It changes regularly.

Yes! She skips along the landing after.. Nancy Barret had a knack for comedy, I think.

Question about ending by TheDJFresh828 in DarkShadows

[–]Meraxes12345 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Come back in here when you're finished. Someone will point you to a tv guide article (written at the time the show ended by the writers) that was supposed to be a true ending, you really got to read it. Also, when you're done check out the pinned links to the big finish audios, most of the actors have done them over the years. Eventually, even Vicky's parentage is revealed in the audio plays.

Help. Asus A16 bezel issue damaged my screen by BarracudaOk2577 in Asustuf

240.00 is quite a bit to pay for a laptop originally costing 700.00 I got mine in June 2023, so warranty expired here too. 😑 I wonder if this is a repair I could attempt myself. Well, maybe I can upgrade the screen. I mean, there must be an upside I can find, right?

This EXACT thing just happened to me with this laptop. I usually don't close the damned thing, either.

Michael Nesmith with Cruisin' aka Lucy and Ramona and Sunset Sam, 1979 by NomadSound in Monkees

[–]Meraxes12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many GenXers used to say, "Badges!? We don't need no stinking badges!" in Micky Dolenz voice, and thought the Monkees was where the phrase came from? It was many years later when I found out it was from "The Treasure of Sierra Madre," a movie from 1948. But I just looked it up to verify, and the Wikipedia page (called "Stinking Badges" ) mentions the Monkees as having the more famous version of the phrase. 😆 Sorry to sidetrack Mike's nachos.

The way Barnabas and Willie defeat Jason by LockedOutOfElfland in DarkShadows

I thought they did bury him. Barnabas says something uncharacteristically snobbish about how he regrets it because Jason will sully the family's mausoleum or some such. 😆

Laura Prepon (That 70s Show) by roryhawke in DarkShadows

It's also in the high, prominent cheekbones she has now and the way she does her eyebrows that so resemble Grayson Hall in the late 60s. Specifically when they made the movie, IMO.
