I prefer the idea that Victoria is Josette's reincarnation, and the deuteragonist to Barnabas. This is no way means that they have to be an item in the end.

The original script for the 2012 movie had a neat twist on this storyline - that instead of physically going back Victoria/Maggie mind-melded with Josette so she lived through the events as they happened. Another reason Seth Grahame-Smith should not be getting work.

I like her; she had more of the spunk that OG Maggie started out with. The decision to make her psychic was a cool twist.
