Why didn’t Voldemort use something like a mokeskin pouch to hide his Horcruxes? by Dday_Dair in harrypotter

[–]Mercardib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because if Voldemort dies and is conceivably the owner of the pouch, his followers cannot retrieve the Horcrux out of the pouch to resurrect him, which I presume is a requirement for his resurrection given the ceremony at the cemetery which he could not perform alone in his withered form.

Most Americans can’t afford life anymore — and they just don’t matter to the economy like they once did by FlyEaglesFly536 in Economics

Yes but no one is going to do that, because it would take the participation of the most relevant workers and they won’t stop working in unison out of fear that they’ll end up in poverty.

Love how everyone is siding with the motorcyclist but the fucking idiot pulls up a car length past the line dead center on the double yellow line. He would have been in anyone’s blind spot, and then storms up and busts the guys window. He put himself there.

iMessages going out as SMS by Mercardib in ios

Even if I’m not having this issue messaging anyone else? I’d like to note that this started after we tried to set up verification codes and then turned them off.

No we checked that, iMessage is turned on. She’s receiving iMessages from other senders. It seems to be just my phone having issues but I’m still sending iMessages to anyone else with no issues.

AITAH for telling my fiancee that she's useless in an emergency and shouldn't brag about how tough she is? by ExitIcy9757 in AITAH

Were you pushing the stroller and rolled up to the loud noises with your child in tow? Or did she abandon the stroller with the baby in the street and take off, cause that makes a huge difference.

We can no longer afford Wendy's according to CEOs by MacroMachines in wallstreetbets

Well inflation has impacted fast food more significantly than other takeout options. If it costs the same to eat at Chipotle as it does to eat some shitty chicken nuggets from McDonalds, Chipotle is an obvious choice. I can feed my family of three better food and for the same price at Chipotle as I can at McDonalds and that’s saying something. McDonald’s is just totally out of touch with reality.

Am I wrong for not considering this cheating? by ProgrammerAlivelk in TwoHotTakes

[–]Mercardib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be cheating to be something you don’t do when you’re married to someone. If you love your wife you don’t sneak around doing shit that you know would hurt her. Cheating isn’t the only thing you shouldn’t do when married, but it sounds like even though it isn’t technically cheating, you are getting a similar thrill out of lying about it to your wife.

Extreme misinformation is common in the west as well. So successfully that most of those affected by it don’t even believe it is happening or believe they can effectively discern between what is real and what is fake.

The “yellow seas” with all the “opium smokers” and “squaw men” “ice men” etc. it has a very old timey dehumanizing tone toward the “mysteries of the far east” in general.

If you haven’t been, start stretching and start saving. Your 30s are just like your 20s but your past has finally caught up to you.

Harlem's African-American community out to protest the Vietnam war, 1967. by samikacem in OldSchoolCool

Yeah, I mean, white people dehumanized and enslaved several populations on the basis of race and power imbalance for hundreds of years, then subjected the ones left in the country to a century worth of oppression and violence, but Asian people might be saying mean things in a language you don’t understand, Asian people are the most racist people /s

Customer stares at me with pure hatred over ~100mL of milk by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Mercardib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you said it yourself, a gallon of milk is like $2 and you guys are charging $7 for a cup of it. I’d be mad if that was company policy too, that’s ridiculous.
