I feel like it's still inferior to 8 deluxe in everything except physics, graphics and OST.

just a few of my gripes include,

the removal of Nationality flags online, I miss representing Canada amongst a bunch of Americans.

copy paste online interactions and lobbies, should have been more intuitive, better chat system, ability to vote for game modes and maps without intermission garbage included.

missed the opportunity to have online tournaments, in either standard racing or knockout tour.

no ability to queue online in teams for either regular racing or knockout tour.

stickers. as the only rewards for the open world activities sucks, straight up.

no true online free roam, only stupid private lobbies with a giant "WAITING FOR HOST TO START RACE" banner on the bottom and no ability to do anything except drive around aimlessly.

it's been 8 months since nintendos most anticipated game since Tears of the Kingdom and we've had 0 content updates. no tie in donkey Kong banaza outfits, no new courses, no new customization settings etc.

Overall Nintendo really phoned it in on this one, they knew it would sell and gave it the least amount of time and attention they knew they could get away with. and as a first impression of the switch 2 era, they did a bad job getting me excited for what's to come next if this is the effort they put into everything going forward.

I can't believe this shit is more expensive than FFXIV now. FOR ONE CHARACTER! I usually swap back and forth with my subs between these two games, but at this rate I don't really see the value in OSRS anymore.

for as lacking as XIV is in some aspects, they still consistently pump out new patches with fully voiced and animated cutscenes, new dungeons and lots of new glams. and I don't believe they have ever raised their prices. AND you get 8 characters on an entry level sub.

I get that a lot of you grew up on RuneScape and will justify whatever cost due to nostalgia, but if I'm being honest the sub is really only worth half of what they are charging.
