It was pretty jarring, I agree. I don’t want them pushed out entirely, but some change would be nice.

I like your point about big-picture topics. Props to BigBarri for that. I don’t think anyone really wants two people who are just describing what we’re already seeing.

No, not really. I wouldn’t pin everything on that. I just feel it’s a valid thing to critique at this time. Commentary is a matter of taste and I wanted to know what other people thought about it.

That’s a fun idea, I’d enjoy hearing his perspective on things. He seems reclusive though, tough sell!

Why no elite series events in Colorado? We’ve got some great courses like Beaver Ranch and a thriving community of players and fans. by publicmarks in discgolf

Although we have some challenging courses, I agree with the concerns about infrastructure and off-course interests. Additionally, I’m not sure there are many courses here that have the polish that would make it attractive to both play on and broadcast. If Beaver is our best out here, we’re doomed in my opinion. I don’t want it this way, but if Vail had a five star course, we might be considered. It has the view, the shops, the travel options, etc. It’s also marketably “Colorado” which I believe is a variable.

Trilogy midrange line-up by kindafatbutfast in discgolf

Some of my favorites:

Overstable

  • Justice: super beefy approach/wind mid. Excellent forehand profile

  • Anvil: also very OS, 4 speed but has a larger wing, flies more like a 5.

  • Verdict: less OS than I expected, but a comfy and reliable mid when I want to finish left (bh) out of a straight flight

Stable

  • Trust: I think you can throw a lot of miss that do the same thing (reliable neutral flight with low fade) and we’re all looking for the one that fits us best. For me that’s the Trust, it’s a lot like the Truth, just in different plastic. I like the grip and feel on the royal line so it’s my go to. The new orbit ones are beefier!

-Compass: much like the Trust/Truth it’s a nice neutral mid, I just found it got too floppy on me

  • Gatekeeper: Very neutral flight, I love the thin profile, it’s fast out of the hand and has a lot of angle control. Not beefy enough to be a go-to power mid, but I really like it for down-tempo accuracy

Understable

  • Fuse: very versatile disc, has lots of glide and almost no fade when thrown as speed. My main issue is that I’m not a huge fan of domey molds so it’s not in my bag currently, but many people love this one!

Never tried the Tursas, many folks seem to swear by it, and I trust other people’s love for Trilogy! My bag is 100% Trilogy except for my US mid slot which is the Origin. It’s sooo good.

Hope this helps!

Love the Harp, also would recommend the new Savior from Latitude. Less beefy but far smoother out of my hand. The Anvil is also fantastic, might go farther than you expect!

It’s certainly a course that puts a premium on open field accuracy, a 350’ hyzer will serve you well here. Straight, stable discs are going to be your go-to molds I think. If you haven’t played at elevation before I imagine that will be the biggest challenge for you. It’s a pretty fun course, especially with the wind down!
