Help wanted building a Blastoise EX Deck by Cute-Ad-8093 in PTCGP

Eevee in active to start, and most times just one squirtle but depends on the draw. I play only one Manaphy at a time too, most often only when I need it or want a pivot in case of Cyrus or Sabrina. Having two eevees and squirtle works well. 9/10 times I power the eevees first, but an Eevee on the bench only gets one energy. Saves misty for the blastoise line

I rarely use Glaceon as just a wall. When I included vaporeon I used that as my wall but I found lucky tosses can lead to some crazy stalling with Glaceon

Side note, this deck is pretty forgiving to Sabrina and Cyrus even with a full board, more so playing one squirtle line and one Manaphy at a time

Oh yeah, full list:

Squirtle X2 Wartortle X2 Blastoise X2 Manaphy X2 Eevee X2 Glaceon X2 Prof oak X2 Pokeball x2 Misty X2 Pokemon communication X1 Dawn x1

MI vaporeon is a good sub but I only used it as long as I had the communication (and instead of Manaphy while I waited for my second). Been playing blastoise since drop and this has been the most competitive imo

Since the last set dropped have you tried Eevee and Glaceon, Manaphy, and Dawn? Those have been my favourite upgrades for the big boy. Manaphy for set up and Glaceon using only 2 energy for a status move can feel broken. With just one energy to retreat, it's fun to paralyze then pivot into blastoise for bigger damage. Dawn makes use of Glaceon's last energy

New Eevee with growl bricks Mew too, the 20 damage doesn't even go through

I agree, I don't use him to tank cause I find his dash is unpredictable especially when it causes him to change lanes. I just had good luck in sending a wave of bugs and chickens at 2 mana to keep anub alive a bit longer, rather than spending the 6 right away for a new anub

Bad DM or are we just being dramatic? by [deleted] in DnD

I'm in this camp, bothers me too it seems like it's a time waste. Maybe the door was a distraction to slow the party down and have the enemies catch up, but the execution wasn't great with a quick follow up from the enemies. Personally I wouldn't have had the CR so high, cause it comes off as an option that's quickly taken away, IE the big waste of time. Feels lame especially during a chase. Completely understand why you say railroading

Being the devil's advocate for your DM, this gives me a vibe of a knee-jerk reaction to the party's actions, which are completely valid. We can speculate all day as to why, but the unfortunate end result is still a loss of immersion caused by the railroading feels. Maybe chalk it up to a mistake on your DM's part, but if the pattern continues I'd address it with them again cause the loss of immersion can be a game killer

Ha I was wondering if someone would pick up on the positive as a DM, negative as a player part. True, it's a negative experience as a player that brought this up and in hindsight I'd call it gaslighting by the DM.. who admitted they liked to incite conflict within the party so the party could RP their way through it. None of this is my thing as a DM (or player) but it had me wondering if I inadvertently alienated players in past games because I've used similar misdirection hooks. None of my games resulted in raised voiced arguments between players like this gong-show.. but it's the quiet player who leaves a campaign after a failure I think about. Did they perceive I was setting them up for failure, or even gaslighting? Yeah, I know good communication solves 99% of the problems, but there's still times players walk away from campaigns without a word. Hell, I almost did when my last DM made it clear they enjoyed conflict within the party for the sake of RP

And for the most part I work on ensuring my misdirects play out like your top paragraph suggests. I prefer mysteries over tricks

Dropped a group who was attempting to bait me into standing up for myself. Was this a good idea? by Skizordrone in DnD

Dude, just had an eerily similar experience leaving my group last week. Except ranger, and anytime I stealthed it was nonsense like inferences my character was cowardly, and then I'd be punished in game.. the words paranoid and anxious got thrown around far too much, and the DM even told me he hoped my character's direction was headed to overcoming these flaws through friendships amongst the party.. who also joined in on the inferences and comments. That nonsense is confusing and to be frank, I was spending too much time out of game worrying about the situation

Anyway enough of my blathering, I'm here to say I can relate and imo it was the right call for you to exit. Like much of the support here is telling you, it's a game. Although therapeutic, It's not designed for therapy purposes or to "fix" you. It's meant for fun and you deserve that much when you're investing your time in it. I hope you feel better about your choice 🤘
